Don't show your broadside.
Get SitAw, know your own detection range, be stealthy.
Use cover, when available.
Only open fire when the enemy is shooting somebody else.
Do not try to actively go for torp runs, your torps are mostly situational ambush weapons.
Use AP to citpen enemy cruisers, HE to set fire to baBBies and to rek DDs.
Set fire to enemies who just used their repair.
From t6 and up, consider carefully if it's worth it to stay near some of your BBs to provide them with AA support, if you have barrage equipped..
If they are bluelining baBBies, ignore them.
If they are BB players who actually do more than linesurf and snipe, support them.

What is /wowsg/ opinion toward Admiral Hipper CA?
Now that i finally upgraded everything and mounted additional modules it feels less sluggish and more resilient thanks to the 43k hp and rudder module.
I still have some issues with the guns, sometimes they deal abysmal damage or bounce at flat targets and turrets 2-3 get blocked by AA mounts, but at least trajectory is nice and the shell velocity is decent i guess.
Also dealing 7k damage in one salvo to a North Carolina and citpenning lower BBs is pretty handy.

It seems pretty sturdy to me when slighty angled, i don't get magazined often even when BBs shoot at me, usually just 3-4 damage when they hit hard with a few shells.
I've been citpenned only when i was showing a full broadside and 4-5 shells landed at the center of the hull but that's pretty normal for any CAs from VIII above.
On the other hand the big dimensions indeed make dodging close range shells harder.
Doesn't seem boring to me as it's always gratifying to land multiple shots on enemy citadels.
Just two hours ago i engaged a duel with a Montana using a mix of torps and APs on Shatter by ambushing her from the center and i won with 7k hp left, while it's certainly not a brawler, the high health pool leaves room for this kind of fights.
Now, if only AP was buffed slighty and her HE were more suitable against targets larger than DDs it would really be perfect.

It's an easier grind than Tanks for sure, especially if you are experienced with grinding. Buy prem time, use the 100%+xp camo, and you've cut your grind down significantly. Dosh grinding is pretty tough tho especially with how expensive modules are past t8.
Japan reigns supreme in most regards, instead of Russian bias like in Tanks the devs have settled for making sure that the USN is the worst tech tree in the game. I won't go into detail about classes, just look at the wiki. Basically BBs and CVs can carry while DDs and Cruisers have a harder time doing so.
If you aren't a window licker it isn't challenging in the slightest, most of the time it's just point and click. Super easy stuff senpai. If you like ships at all I highly recommend it, and if you're on NA one of our posters visited Iowa recently and got a bunch of invite codes. AND if you're super autistic we have a x2 XP/silver event going on, so it's the perfect time to grind. Only applies to t4 tho if I recall correctly.

No not really. BBs have really bad dispersion values since they can do a lot of damage, so getting high damage shots can be very similar to winning the lottery. If you're good you'll do a lot of damage but you can still get fucked by rng.
CVs are fun and contrary to what others here will tell you, super easy to learn. Watch some videos on how to play and you'd honestly be fine. USN has more planes per squad but less squads to control, IJN gets less planes per squad but more squads to control, so more micromanaging. The meta CVs right now are all IJN

Like WoT, the idea of playing with such vessels is what makes this game interesting, rather than the gameplay itself.
WoWS has the same problems you can find in WoT: mechanics, economy, teammates, and balance; it's a WG game after all.
The grind is technically the same, but it might be actually longer, time wise, because naval battles last much more than tank battles.
Tactically, WoWS is not as challenging as WoT since it is much slower and gives you more time to think, but since you're shooting at some kilometers away, shells take many seconds to arrive at the target, and leading correctly is much more difficult than WoT (in this way it's pretty much like arty, but with a shittier view).
DD and torps spam is the meta right now. CV make everything more frustrating, but they're not as meta as DD.

They pretty much have the best high tier DDs, what the fuck are you going on about? They're wiping the floor with other DDs in Asia and have good performances everywhere else. Benson is still pretty much the best T8 DD and will remain the ideal DD to take to Ranked.
