>Dead genre, dead community?
I don't go on /vg/ much, but since I've never seen an RTS general on here I figured I'd start one:
>What have you been playing?
>What did you used to play?
>What do you want to get good at?
Personally I've been playing a lot of pic related. It's pretty entry-level, but I'm finding more and more depth as I continue playing. I highly recommend it, especially if you can find a group of mates to play it with.
why does no one play rts anymore

>What have you been playing?
haven't played RTS in ages. I think the last one was some Empire at War mod? last game I seriously played was Supreme Commander.
been mostly playing Victoria 2 but its not really RTS since its pauseable.
>What do you want to get good at?

Dead genre. the fans have long abandoned it, dying out themselves, abandoning vidya or moving on to other genres.

if I understand your idea correctly then yes. it is a bad idea. There was one game in the past which I dont recall the name but I remember reviewers panned simply because the idea is bad.
Heres the problem, lets say you are at work, or asleep - whats stopping someone that lives in a different timezone where its normal gaming hours from utterly wrecking your shit?
Under-appreciated gem coming through.
Great singleplayer and fantastic Co-op against a truly difficult AI.
Seriously, it's an inexpensive game that is actually unique in many ways. Give it a shot next time it's on sale.
