The 80's blue flag was perfect. Yes the F-15 is still a better aircraft overall, but at least it was more balanced that way.

You are wrong. Both sides evaluated that in case of a conventional war without nukes offensive strategies would be the most useful since they dictated who has the initiative. While Western powers relied mostly on air power with its ability to strike anywhere, fast and precise the East block nations more relied on strategies that were combat proven since WW2 which is heavy assaults on key postions with lots of artillery/MLRS as support.

But in general Russian/Soviet military was built to defend it self against a large invasion through Europe (hense the bloc countries), where as the US military was built with global reach in mind (carriers, bases fucking everywhere)

I wasn't in TS or anything, but to me it seems like if you guys just coordinated it a little bit better even with the small group that was around you could've done it.
A single helo seems to have enough firepower and loiter time to wipe out an entire airfield as long as there's air cover. Between that and spanking the radars ahead of time it doesn't seem too difficult.
Of course that's on a practically empty server though, and in the real world it's going to be a hell of a lot more chaotic.
