There's a shmup I'm looking for which I played in the arcades in my childhood and never beat, and which I've forgotten the name of.
All I remember is:
-It's intro cinematic was in 3D
-Actually, from my hazy memory it's pretty much all in 3D and did some crazy perspective shifting in the background
-Either level 2 was a desert level
-Desert level boss was a mechanical dragon
-Actually, I'm pretty sure it was a choice between jungle and desert for level 2
-There was a level up system which would upgrade firepower and at level 3 change the look of the ship
-There was a 'scratch damage' system which rewarded more 'EXP' for high risk play. Best abusable way was wiggling the joystick left and right at the edge of lasers
-Not sure if bullet hell
Fond memories of Metal Slug 2, KoF 98 (which was switched for the Shmup), and Puzzle Bobble, and Elevator Action in that arcade room. HotD3 caused nightmares though.
