Yeah, I don't like this change. Many enemies also feel like they were ripped straight from Bloodbourne, being super fast and super strong. I liked it when enemies were a bit slower, and you didn't need to have twitch reflexes in order to dodge.

to fix it further, add at least a second of cooldown between rolls or if you choose to roll twice in a row as soon as you can then your second roll drains more stamina and the third even more so after 5-6 rolls repeated (with less than a second in between them) most players would be out of stamina and this should add another penalty - stamina recovers twice as slow

For example is the archdeacon's great staff good for dark sorceries at all, are weapon catalysts like the cleric's candlestick any good in terms of spellcasting etc.

aldrich is one of the few covenants I have no trouble getting invasions to work. sometimes the invasion events turn out glitchy but it still works and sometimes I get another invasion going before I even have the time to remove the damn thing

Loving this shit. always wanted to play it. Its funny how similar yet different it is from the souls games, which really didnt change that much between games. it really does feel a LOT like King's Field too. Which I love. Always liked King's Field's sort of atmosphere
also maybe its just me, but backstabbing is harder to get on enemies than in DaS1, since they all rotate, far more than das1 enemies. parry timing is weird too

If only that happened now. I respecced as a pure caster for shits and giggles after beating Cinder, and I could barely dodge their constant combos. It was fucking impossible. They continue their combos until they hit, which means you need to dodge constantly for several seconds, whereas you only need to block them once and then stunlock them to death with a shield and sword. All of this makes magic seem such bullshit difficult. What's the point of having long cast times if the effects are shit, and enemies are hyper aggressive and never give you time to breathe?

So I use three main weapons right now, Halberd+9, Black Knight Sword +4, and Uchi +9.
I've found using the Uchi for bosses works well because it does decent damage is quite fast. But my Black Knight sword can stagger them, opening up a critical chance.
My question is this. Can bosses be bled? I've seen it happen in other Souls games, but I have yet to see it when using the Uchi in this game.

I'm less bitter about it than I was before after pumping enough stamina and HP has brought me to somewhat like shields in DS1/DS2, but I do wish the game had been more DS and less BB. I'm not knocking BB in its design choice, that just isn't my style and I liked how in DS1 you could pull off a variety of builds and playstyles. It's kind of odd because I like and naturally do longsword and board builds but the fact that it is so pigeonholed is disappointing - in the past it felt good and safe but I could venture and experiment with other ways. Now despite the apparent stats showing some massive buffed 2h weapon has a higher attack than my 1h sword the agonizingly slow animation & high stamina drain nullifies that. It gets good after you get to the Grand Archives, which is pretty much the very end of the game. That's when you get Soul Stream (a giant fuck-off beam that has incredibly range) and Crystal stuff. And like Pyromancy the bulk of damage is determined by the magic-boosting rings, and for sorcerers they're all the way in Irithyll. So it's either a matter of respeccing until you get to those areas, or having a Raw Longsword or a similarly good weapon that you don't need the scaling for.

I'm being serious here. If the host and his gank army decides to rush you then you're fucked since they can just keep hitting you (and given the awful hitboxes they'll hit you from miles away). Magic/Pyro/faith doesn't help since you can avoid them by slowly stepping to the right or left since tracking is non-existent.
You can't lure people into mobs (okay, maybe the odd retard) so you're forced into 3v1/4v1 on their terms. You're fucked in the healing department since they'll have up to 10-15 more estus uses than you between them. Even if, EVEN FUCK IF you kill a phantom the host will summon another.
I don't understand this. How can a system cater so hard to casuals yet be defended so furiously by the players? This shit will kill invasions. Also, seriously, get good. Learn to trade blows in your favour. For every sippy you take, the host has to chug 2 or 3. Use weapons that you can poke them with. Hint: spears, halberds, and ranged weapons are your friend. You are always at a disadvantage if you try to brawl them.

Guys, I'm just not having any fun.
I LOVED Dark Souls; it's easily one of my favorite games of all time. No matter how I played, I was having a blast. Knocking people down with Zweihander? Hilarious. Playing footsies with my superior spear range? Not a total snoozefest at least. Gettin up in there with my Bandit's Knife? Hell yeah.
I haven't felt anything except frustration and nothing so far in "Dark Souls" 3. My big weapon doesn't stagger them, blocking doesn't work, and I even had an enemy hit me during the iframes of my dodge.. I could always count on careful blocking or dodging (when it was a good idea) then counterattacking with my powerful weapon to get the kill.. that doesn't work at all. Enemies in robes are completely unphased by my Ultra Greatsword hitting twice or my Battle Axe getting in 3 hits.
Am I missing something, or is this game just not for me?

When I invade, I will do everything necessary to ensure victory. You have to, because the odds are heavily against you. There is no way to win if you fight 'fairly' when invading, unless the host deliberately looks for a fair fight.
Whenever I get invaded, I always fight one on one since I know how it feels to be in that position. If I'm not trying to progress through the level, I'll chug my Estus before the fight to show that I won't be a dick.

I'm playing blind, and I don't have a particular build in mind or anything, as I don't know what armor or weapons or spells there are, but I'm tired of getting invaded or invading people and getting btfo by some guy stunlocking me with his longsword from a foot outside his reach, or wailing on someone and needing two full combos to kill them, when they kill me in three hits.

Why does every enemy just have 7-hit combos that stagger you, kill you in about 4 hits, and then almost no cooldown period after performing them?
Giving them 0 poise doesn't solve the problem, because the problem is that they all behave identically and the solution is to make them:
a) sometimes attack slower
b) sometimes have long windows to compliment their aggressiveness
c) sometimes not do too much damage
And then sometimes they dont even stagger so they become literally impossible if you aren't using a Straight Sword.

Nah, as someone pointed out: They're hollows from Lothric. Look at the first level of the High Wall and you will notice hollows praying to wooden hollows with wings. Some hollows probably mutate to the black blobs and some ascend into the pilgrim butterflies. The pilgrims on the other hand look much like the dragon creatures from Archdragon Peak. It seems like the world turns into the state before the First Flame with it's inhabitants turning into (Arch-)trees and dragons.

Actually I should quit dark souls now that I just had a 1v1 against a host and phantom (in that order, just didn't kill host) and then finally a last waltz with the host. Was letting them heal up every time they got low, using no magic or items other than my own 5 estus flasks, just straight-up fight as a Watchdog. It was the most fun i've had in this entire game by far.

While i agree a lot of the issues Can and probably will be patched out, some of those i listed are inherent to the game itself, like the linearity or excessive fan service. I didnt even mention the dangerous issues with target locks dropping when you get close to some of the larger enemies, because im sure that will get patched fairly quickly.

One thing they NEED to patch NOW is the stupid issue with ppl being punished for getting D/Ced and using a one time use consumable item to play MP again.

Pro tip: The easy way to beat him is to target his shadow in phase two. it always does the same thing as the pontif himself, only a few seconds earlier. if you play around the phantom, you will always know what the boss is about to do.

You forgot: Almost all enemies need to be slowed down by about 15% to match the player's speed. The bloodborne-like speed is fine for Bloodborne but without ultra-fast-dodge it's just tedious waiting for their combos to run out.
