To be fair, they probably see Reapers or Ultra Greatswords laugh at groups of jailers. You can stagger them to prevent their health drain, then spam R1 until dead, only the ones that aren't staggered can drain or brand you. Reapers and UGSes have enough range to stagger a whole group at once and the other groups won't aggro in time. Curved Sword users just want to try to copy.

If I infuse something with sharp or something can I still buff it with the pyromancy? when I had it fire I couldn't buff it and im not sure if chaos would be just stronger since I have 25 faith and int but I probably wont be able to buff it then either

As stated in the game, the more armor you wear the less damage you do. Try hitting some enemies naked, then hit the same ones in full fatty armor and you will notice a difference. Not a big one but enough to be noticeable.

I went pure str and my progression was Greataxe + heavy darksword > Yhorms Great Machete. Greataxes are so fun in this game and heavy infusion is really good.
