I used Fire Longsword until now, +9
I changed over to full strength for the Ultra Greatsword, made it +5 and infused it
Put on Carthus Flame Arc
Went to Anor Londo to test damage at the knights, the single hits do more damage than the Fire Longsword, but the firelongsword kills them 3 times faster
Then i let people summon me for Aldrich and the UGS is fucking garbage.
In Fact, almost every weapon EXCEPT a few katana are not even half as effective as the fucking Longsword

Does the ring you get from Vordt stack enough with the Butcher's Knife effect to make it viable? Are there any other items that restore HP on hit? I have a build idea that relies on that and the ring that makes you take less damage when at full health.

Jeesus, just finding it impossible to continue to play the game. Only had a couple of crashes, but the gameplay and world just isnt sucking me in like bloodborne did.
I kinda hoped the graphics would be better on PC. Running maxed at 1080p apart from motion blur/dof but it still doesn't look very good. Might try forcing AA through software to see if we can pick it up.

Want to make a curved sword saracen kind of character for my 2nd run, looking at the carthus curved sword/shotel, the twin blades, the storm curved sword and maybe a curved greatsword. How can I differentiate it from my quality build? Obviously lower str and sharp infusion, how are the carthus rings? And the beacon/flame arc pyros? Is there a good stopping point for the lower end pyromancies to still be decent? How does pyromancy scale now, is it purely int+fai or do they have to be equal/lowest stay scaling only?

Just parry them. You can set up parry their three sword hit combo by blocking the first one and parrying the second immediately after. There's a mimic which gives you a dank axe that'll kill them in one hit upon doing so. Then just kick the spear ones.

What does crystal magic weapon look like this time around? Still like a bunch of oversized icicles stuck on a stick with any weapon? Also, how does it perform? Right now I use greater magic weapon, but its pretty useless damagewise, just looks neat.

I've become invested in the cathedral greatsword over the normal ultra greatsword.

This is my new favorite gesture. It's also fun to use when I get summoned in and a host goes down a dead end to get an item.

Take it from someone who literally spent an hour plus on him. Get a decent shield (perfiably with fire resistence) and stick to the side with his purple sword. He should be easy and most of his attacks will miss. When he does his spazz attack where he goes full retard then just roll away and reset. The moment his shadow comes out focus on the shadow and keep your distance if they start to tag team you.

Stop locking on and sprint away from them. At <70% equip load, you can just out pace them. Or you can just roll at a sharp angle toward them, because the timing's easier and they'll have to loop back around and fizzle out before they get back. So far I can only agree that I hate this whole no poise thing and the pvp gankfest, but pve wise, it's fucking amazing. Most of the time I feel that I am given a challenge and not bullshit swarm of enemy crap that was in 90% on DS 2.
Now I won't say that it doesn't have it's downsides I.E The ridiculous OP NPC invaders or enemies hyper armoring mid stagger and so on, but it still is tons better than what Dark Souls 2 was.
I have a smile on my face right now, knowing that DS 2 faggots were blown the fuck out and I bet my ass they will stop showing their faces in this general (maybe just on rare occasions)

So I played Demon's Souls in 2010 and Dark Souls in 2012. Skipped Dark Souls 2. Are some bosses unstaggerable? I feel like some especially the pontiff have 0 poise. I did a test run with a mace to learn his move set but I ended up killing him. Did this game move from face rape everything with a shield to actually use your i frames and punish? Also, what's the soft cap on vitality?
