Alternatively, if you never rescue him at all, and don't buy the armor from patches (and let patches keep the armor), patches will save him.
No one has figured out how to save him from the rooftops of lothric castle though. My guess is that it might involve having patches keep the armor and telling him the location, or possibly killing the golden guards before letting him explore.

No, greataxes, some UGSs, and some greathammers can easily reach 600 AR. Only FUGS is shit now, the rest of the Ultra weapons are still alright. If you have good timing you can easily shit on katana users with your hyper armor, or one shot them with parries, etc.
I will say this, though:If any more Ultra weapons get nerfed, it's going to spell doom for Ultra weapons in Dark Souls 3, as they aren't "OP" right now, not one of them, so if they start to get randomly nerfed, we're going to have a Dark Souls 1 BKGA fiasco on our hands where perfectly balanced weapons get nerfed just because they are stronger than dex weapons.

Like I said in the previous thread, I think miracles are great just the way they are. People just need to know how they work.
Lightning miracles require close proximity. It is best to use hyperpoise from a talisman's weapon art, and you should be able to wreck the shit out of someone with sunlight spear (should cause +1200 dmg if you are close)
I kind of wish they would lower the fp cost and maybe extend the range, but regardless, they still do great damage if you are close.
This along with the fact that there's a bunch of great miracle utilities and a miracle version of chaos firestorm along with some good pve miracles like WoG makes being a faith caster really viable

The greatsword 4-hit combos were an issue after the MLGS was nerfed, I'm talking about the CMW MLGS nerf. Not only was the MLGS slowed down noticeably compared to other greatswords even when the 4-hit nerf was enacted, but it was made unbuffable. And this was when people had no idea how elemental defenses worked in 2, and no one had proper INT/FAI along with other items to counteract pure magic damage. The MLGS in 2 already had the worst moveset of them yet in the series, the 2H version mostly, and afterwards it was complete garbage, especially once people figured out how to minimize elemental damage almost completely if not fully.
The only real use for it after was Enchanted infusion with RoB+2 and Flynn's for a gimmick pure physical MLGS, and even then the moveset is so slow it was great weapon tier. Almost no one used the MLGS afterward for good reason, and it being the first major nerf of 2 and it never being corrected shows From just nerfs base on demand and not on what is actually a problem or not.

If you're a STR player and this nerf doesn't make you uneasy, you're living in a fantasy land. If all it took to get FUGS nerfed was a little whining, all you have to ask it "When is it going to happen to MY favorite weapon?"
It happened to the BKGA in 1, it happened to excellent choice in 2 (And many other STR weapons got shit on) and now in 3 the FUGS nerf has happened. The game hasn't even fully fucking released yet.
They haven't even touched on straight swords, estoc turtling, bad magic scaling, storm inifinte, etc. But they've already nerfed the best STR weapon on the game.

Could I get some feedback on this DS2 build for PvP? I originally intended to do an infused weapon + buff build, switching between sunlight blade and resonant weapon, but apparently that type of build is completely outclassed by robflynn with uninfused weapons. Came up with this as sort of a hybrid between being a hexer and melee. Would I be better off dropping my Faith to 30, spicing down sunlight blade, and putting those 20 levels into VIG/END/ADP? I'm pretty new to PvP in this game but I've been having some success with lightning heide sword and the spells I have equipped. PS4 SOTFS is surprisingly active for pvp

Yes. Powerstance is gone, but several weapons have a dual-wield mode rather than a two-handed mode. Caestus is one of them.
Pros: Only need to upgrade one weapon, saves a weapon slot, no need to inflate stats to powerstance.
Cons: Only specific weapons can be dual-wielded in this way, can't mix buffs while 'pwerstancing'.

Fuck off, I've been using Yhorm's for more than 200 matches and it isn't even close to bullshit. But just because it can kill people in three or four hits, it's going to get nerfed.
They'll ignore the sub par moveset with useless rolling and running attacks and nerf it on damage alone. That's what people aren't fucking getting, Ultra weapons don't have good fucking movesets, without their damage they'll be fucking shit.

I'm not sure. Most of the dual-wield weapons have relatively low strength requirements. The highest required strength for any dual weapon is 20, shared by the Winged Knight Twinaxes and the Demon's Fist, so even if you can't it's not a huge investment for any of them.

They were always shady but our first contact with them was with Frampt and he was silly and had a funny voice. If you went to Kaathe he was a little eerier because of the area and the infodump. But I am fucking terrified of them in DS3, every mention of them sends shivers down my spine, the fucking statues, the Angel's, Yuria wearing clothes that make her look like one. It's terrifying, like they are an unstopabble unseen force. It's so weird. They seem so powerful in this game and we don't even see them. This is fucking great.

Yhorms has more reach. There are several ultra weapons with reach and damage to match the FUGS and its moveset was actually shit. Those 2H R1s are the worst ultraweapon attack in the game, and parryable to boot.
FUGS was flocked to because it was a literal meme. Everyone just assumed because people were using it and it was working that it must be the best and so decided to use it too, then people saw even more people using it and assumed the same, and so on. It was already being dropped by most band-wagoners by the time from nerfed it, because people were realizing it wasn't actually all that special and the moveset was really holding it back.
Anyone with the game, I can confirm that Heavy Barbed Straight Sword + Havel Shield + Bleed buff + Kingslayer Ring, will absolutely rape the fuck out of any Havel Estoc you see. :^)

It's got a crazy flippy-dippy L1 combo while wielded with it's dagger. L1 meaning it's not it's WA (that's a parry) and therefore costs nothing to use. So it's a dex greatsword with an animu as fuck combo that can parry (quickly, as it's a dagger parry). The L1 combo is also apparently decent for dead angling.
It's probably viable, but not optimal.

Farron's Sword is certainly usable, but it suffers from a lack of 2H attacks as those are unparriable for horizontal UGSs.
It's a weapon that basically boils down to its L1s, and when that's all it's really good at, it gets repetitive and easy to predict. If you use it, for God's sake please try and be unpredictable, no one is going to get hit from a neutral L1, as they've already dodged it 1000 times by now.
