Three are a few old hub that closed long ago, but they left the builds there: Anzere, Ross, Calleta, Violet, a handful more; plus Murray and Hanson were turned into something like parks because the original builds had kind of decayed. There is so much wrong with IMVU I don't even know where to begin, so I'll just dump some reasons it's not a good replacement for SL:
-generally lower quality of content
-IMVU takes an absurd cut from every transaction due to the way their derivation system works. You can't just upload content you've created; you have to "derive" from an existing product, and the full cost of that product is built into the cost of yours. Every product was derived from a product made by IMVU, or from a product derived from a product made by IMVU, etc. Meaning most of the profit from the sale of any product goes into their pockets, and you're left with pennies.
-additionally, this means most of the products are shitty MSPaint retextures of other products, or marked-up derivations that change absolutely nothing about the product they're derived from (the catalog is cluttered with this trash.)
-they do not listen to their customers, period. They'll make a terrible decision that negatively impacts huge portions of their userbase, create a thread about it on their forums, ignore the thread, then lock it after an arbitrary period of time and forbid all further discussion of the topic after issuing a canned corporate response that raises more questions than it answers and basically boils down to "we're not backing down, so fuck off."
-the program itself is profoundly antisocial in nature. It's not an open world, it's a closed-in little box that you invite people into. There's nothing fun to explore and it's hard to meet new people, let alone people who aren't awful.
-everything is poseballs. You don't move around or interact with anything.
-much less freedom to edit products you buy... can't reposition accessories that don't fit, etc.

This is my concern. Roughly 100,000 people on SL at a given time. Some estimates say at least 30-40 thousand are bots. Starting at 60,000 people ... I meet in the hundreds, daily. Meaning in a month I do peak thousands.
But even if I arrogantly say I meet 30,000 people from daily exploring, events, popular sims, etc. That's a lot of people I never come across. I will inject randomly venturing upon the map upon crowds and groups, or even duos, does find various gatherings ... None of it encompasses all that's going on at once with Second Life.
So if I succumb to the terribles, it leaves me wondering what everyone else is doing.
