It was fun learning it because it meant I could kill those level 80(?) mammoths around level 50-60 quite consistently. The setup was a pain but so satisfying when done correctly.

I dunno about Avalanche Abaasy, but topplelocking is something that works well on absolutely anything that isn't immune to it. While topple spikes were designed as a counter to topplelocking, speccing everyone with 100% spike defense makes it less than trivial. Lower topple duration certainly means that it's harder to topplelock, but that's really a non-factor, as surviving and recovering in those small windows when the boss is up isn't difficult. Most importantly, topple durations will stack each time the monster is inflicted with it while it's down, meaning that as long as you can keep throwing out topple moves, you're fine.
Basically, topplelocking is retarded and the counter for it barely exists.

It appears that because I used the "unlock all landmarks" code on the file back when it was on my Wii (I have a no hacks file and a hacked file), it also accessed every location, but didn't clear the maps, and I have 253 hours into the file :^)

I'll take this brief MH break to say that I've recently seen the Huntress drawing and it looked impressive. That fucking Dragonseal was incredible, I really mean it, and the pose of her and the Rebellion torso tramsitted a lot of action.She is hot, too, with that appropriately muscular body.

- You are fighting yggdralith zero (since parties tend to break all appendages)
Appendage Crusher > Weapon Attack Up. Appendage Crusher gets better the more you have on, up to 5, except only put 2 on if you are already attacking a -3 hardness appendage.
Also, if your build is melee attack / ranged attack based (and not potential based) then melee attack up / ranged attack up > Weapon Damage.

Whoops, was talking out of my ass. Appendage Crusher > Weapon Attack Up _even_ for the Rust, with the caveat above that you Appendage Crusher caps at 2 or 5 depending on the enemy appendage (and so you'll end up with WPATK UP for the remaining slots, since they are better than, say, Ether Attack Up or Slayer)
Interestingly, for weapons with low weapon attack you can get Appendage Crusher > Ether Attack Up > WPATK Up
Proof: For adding 2 appendage crusher +250% independent vs +150% independent is a factor of 1.67, whereas 2 extra WPATKUP augments will just add 880 to the base term, which (assume a hit scaling of, like 5, say) is the equivalent of 176 attack stat (melee attack / potential) which is much less than a 1.67x increase in overall damage.

Level your mechanical field skill before all the others, as it helps you install data probes (I.e. quick travel points). Be sure to level up your arts and skills periodically, and change your class every time you hit rank 10.

You can't miss things, but you can get npcs in normal missions killed by the wrong choices.
Don't waste all your BP early if you aren't sure about the class.
If you want to grind classes but not regular levels early, find a bunch of weak mobs that give 1xp and nuke them repeatedly. You can get up to 16 points per Phoenix if you stand next to the pond in the starting area at night.
Once you hit rank 10 in the last class in a line, you can always equip its weapons, so reclassing is less painful.
Kick Elma and Potato out of the party whenever they aren't required so they don't hog all the xp and affinity gains.
