Strafe sideways for starters, always move diagonally at least, ideally always be moving in three axis. you have 6 degrees of freedom, use them.
Also decouple and move/fight off your primary axis. Just make sure you know where you're drifting to or you'll smack into asteroids a lot.

Two weeks.
So I just started playing and have had a lot of fun so far. One thing I have a question about is PVP space combat. From what I have experienced, it usually devolves into me and my opponent doing what is essentially space jousting. We just are flying towards each other at high speed, landing a couple of shots and then turning around and repeating. Is this what it is like for everyone else or am I just bad at combat?
