GGs. I don't play enough Gengars, so I was learning on the fly how to deal with his moves, and especially his Synergy moves. Absolutely everything I do feels like a 50/50 against Synergy Gengar, just because of that laser going up and super. From range, that laser alone should be able to stop anything I try. Have a neat tip if you weren't privy to it before:
Immediately after firing bullet seed in FP you can tilt the stick or dpad to influence where the seeds land
This lets you do quite a bit of area denial if you combine it with bramble trap or leech seed, both of which you can also influence distance by holding down their respective button.

I need some advice, guys.
I can't figure out how to beat people who go HAM on me as Machamp.
When I have an opponent who is playing the game more like a traditional fighter, I do very well. I can space well, I can poke well, I can grab and block effectively.
However, when they get in my face and just mash their controller, I have difficulties beating it. I'll block 2 or 3 attacks, then instantly get grabbed. I'll go for the counter, and they'll snuff the attack or grab me out of it. I try to go for normal attacks, and theirs seem to beat mine.
I don't know if it's lack of experience or what. I just find myself freezing up when someone is mercilessly attacking me and when I do try to do something, I get beat.
Any advice?

Have you tried playing Machamp in training to get a feel for his moves and see what they do?
A lot of his stuff is super unsafe so the best you can really do is capitalize as quickly as you can.
Also try a different support set, Fennekin makes you invulnerable and even though it's almost always shielded it still pushes them back.

6XX 5X YYXX only enhances for 5 seconds and leaves 1 point until phase shift, meaning if you want to phase shift with a pokemon move you have to do it raw or do 6A off a divekick/aerial Y. You can also go for a grab. It has a higher payoff if you do, since you then have the regular 10s of enhancement plus an attack boost, but you have to do this within 5s after the combo.
6XX 8Y aerial Y 6Y cancel 8A gives you 10s enhancement but phase shifts (only does 1 point more of damage, really doesn't matter), a more consistent option.
you said 6XX 5X 2Y 4A is his most damaging combo (does 180 damage in burst), but 6XX 8Y(angled forward)Y 6Y 4A does 203 damage in burst
6XX 5X burst does 220
8YY burst does 241
Also some information you didn't cover
enhancement last 10s except for in two situations:
- landing 8XX or anything that ends in it (like YYXX) only gives you 5s EVEN IF YOU PHASE SHIFT WITH IT
- duel phase grab enhancement lasts 12s
The phase shift attack boost lasts 5s, but the burst attack and defense boosts last 11s
The speed drop from electroweb lasts 11s enhanced and unenhanced, although the enhanced one is more like 10s because the animation lasts longer.
4A will NEVER phase shift unenhanced and will ALWAYS phase shift enhanced. Meanwhile, 2A will phase shift no matter what.
Against the wall 8YY 4A does a nice 236 damage, gives you an attack boost and drops the opponent's speed. It's also the easiest thing ever to do. If you convert it off a landing aerial Y then you do 269 damage.
Low stance is really nice against certain characters, eg. machamp's counter, cross chop and first hit of Y all whiff.
I still haven't found a good time to use his high stance. Why would you ever stop attacking to get a boost to your support gauge? Is there any way to be next to them on the ground and have enough time to use this?
Also some more info about his aerial R would be nice, I have nothing solid on it.

While it's technically not "dead", what happened to /ink/ is that anyone who wants to play matches just goes to the Discord to recruit. And while they're there, they talk about the game, some misc. stuff, and before they know it, most of the players end up spending more time on the Discord than the general. This creates a sort of schism between the thread and the Discord, causing one crowd the backlash at the other, despite the fact that the two are connected.
TLDR: It creates a sort of circlejerk, and brings discussion out of the general.
