First of all download Notepad++ and XML Tools - Pretty Print. Otherwise your savefile will be a clusterfuck.
Go in your save file and find the <items> tag (it should be at the top)
If you have an empty slot in your inventory, you should see something like this:

The tree fruit isn't very much. Apricots only go for 50g each while the highest are peaches and pomegranates with 140g. Selling the tree fruit... it's not much. I make way more on 5 bottles of truffle oil.

The gaping void of functionality of a flower field is eating at me.
Thought bordering them with grass to cover up the crude curves would make it look smoother but it ended up looking pretty bad in the end. The primary farm layout up front is still 1st year layout too, since I really didn't want to move that one brave dwarf soldier with over 50 confirmed scare counts on him the last I checked.

You start the game and you have duggies. These guys are neat because they're a hazard, they do something unique, and they have a non-braindead tactic to beat them.
And then they never ever show up again.
What do you get?
Well you have the slimes which are passable, would be better if sword blocking wasn't ass. You have the extremely simplistic bats.
Then you have tar retards that you literally walk around. You have the god-awful skeletons that are so shit and harmless that it takes you a while to notice they even had an extremely dysfunctional attempt at a ranged attack. You have the tardudes that literally just run at you with bad AI. The healers that never heal anything except their full-health selves and have a debuff that never does anything.
Every enemy SUCKS and have zero depth with ZERO SYNERGY BETWEEN EACH OTHER
This is not even going into how there is not one viable weapon that isn't a sword, and how simplistic sword combat is

The only other useful function of the kitchen is making sashimi every day to give to villagers and eat in the skull mine, and you're only gonna be making daily sashimi once you have luremaster and don't have to bait your traps any more.
Basically the house upgrade is for end game shit. The kitchen won't help you become an economic powerhouse.
Animals are worthwhile only in terms of helping you finish bundles and mass produce cheese for pepper poppers. They're important if you want the greenhouse by Winter 1, however I'd prioritize your pickaxe so you can mine more efficiently. More mining each day = more ores = more kegs/preserve jars/beehives/sprinklers.
Aside from that it might be worth upgrading your axe so you can get into the secret forest. The watering can takes priority if you're still lacking in sprinklers, but if you have a handful of quality sprinklers already then the watering can kinda loses its importance.
