Just was going to add a commune button to the arcane tome and remove the communication rune. Was also going to remove making runes with words. That doesn't mean that you don't discover the words, it's just when drawing a rune you choose from what available words you have set. So if you have only join blood and self written down, you'll see a convert rune being available. If the words are wrong, you can still draw the rune, just nothing happens.

Draw the rune, see if it works. It's the same principle. All words start at null and can be cleared. If you have the runes set to something (regardless of how accurate the words are) and those words are used to make words, your draw rune option automatically adds those tho the list of possible runes to make.

All words start off blank. You can set geeri to join, or geeri to blood, or geeri to technology, etc.
If you have the appropriate words set, that is if you have in your words menu, join, blood, and self set to ANYTHING, you can now draw a convert rune.
Now, it doesn't mean the rune will work, and if it doesn't you can just try again.
All it does is that you don't have to memorize all the combinations, and only have to navigate one menu to make a rune. That's it.

Testing is a problem. Not everyone is testing their PRs as well as they should be. I'm not denying that. Major bugs should always be ironed out before merging, but this does not always happen. Balance is sort of hard to gauge without running it on an actual server, and since nobody uses the testing server, the main server is the first trial run of just about everything.
Give me a few examples of issues being closed inappropriately. I don't see any, but I didn't exactly look very hard because it's 4 AM and I'm tired. Your only ways of finding them are to drift through space until you go near one, launch a fuck ton of gps out the chapel, or ghost and try to find a near landmark, which is metagaming. All of these reliant on RNG and 90% of the time I've found and cleared one the shuttle is called shortly afterwards.
