unironically, reddit. There is a decent sticky there that at least explains what is happening and why. Avoid the rest though, pretty toxic. For watching shit unfold watch streams when shit goes down (which is sporadic though usually in US or EU prime times.) like Daopa. Source: made an alt corp called P1RAT to hold pocos taken from PIRAT. They petitioned it and somehow CCP judged it a violation and forced a namechange.

For a fee capsuleers can violence each other in Empire space. The wardec fee is basically a bribe to get CONCORD to look the other way, that's the lore behind the Yulai Concention, or at least the bit involved with wars between corps and alliances.
Basically if someone spends 30 minutes talking shit to you in hisec local you can pay to be able to kill every straggling bad they have and contract the ceo a can full of corpses.
It also allows big rich groups like null alliances to interrupt their enemy haulers in Jita and Empire in general, that's the reason you never see Marmite more than 5 jumps from Jita anyway.
Generally the mechanic is used by lame pvp wannabes to smack down haulers without possibility of consequences©. They usually run or dock faced with any opposition.

So your JB system is probably an arbitrary system strategically located based on location alone and not exactly content. Your actual indexes in that system are probably low because you're using it for logistics not to actually do shit in. Some rando comes along, doesn't want to take sov, but rings your door bell and then runs and hides. You hear the bell ring and answer the door and theres no one there, unentosis the progress, which takes 10 minutes because you have to warm up then cycle it down for another cycle. He does this relentlessly for the few hours your system is open to attacks which is completely arbitrary and annoys the ever loving shit out of you
Don't ever NOT answer the doorbell, because if you don't the trollceptor just says there and burns your timers, your TCU goes RF then you lose your indexes which means your JB goes offline and you can't get it back for 30 days
Yes this was a huge problem in places like providence where JB's were the way to get around, all around and provides huge content for the area.
So yea, when the doorbell rings, don't ever not answer it, because your mailbox will get RF'd and you can't get mail for a month. You literally couldn't do anything about trollceptors because you couldn't EVER catch them, they all went 6km/s+, they always fell off grid the moment you enter system, they avoided every single one of your gate camps because an interceptor could still instawarp.
Trollceptors were a real problem, the entire sov holding community complained about it relentlessly. AFK cloaking doesn't disable your services and sov structures, its no where comparable
Today, entosising is so much better, you don't have to worry about trollceptors because grids are huge and interceptors can't pull their shit.

Yes, but it'd be better to fit 2-3 hardeners depending on missions, and use drone damage amplifies to speed them up. Could also use 2 medium repairers and mind your cap, you don't have to be 100% stable.

It's 1000k off of any celestial body, think there were different rules for Stargates and existing stations. Also, it doesn't matter where you place it, really. It will be visible to all in system on their overview, like a normal station
I just started playing yesterday and got into mining.
I have my skill training setup to the requirements for a better miner and I'm mining materials for a destroyer blueprint I managed to snag cheaply from a contract.

Mining is a dead end that makes people get bored and leave the game.
It's for bots.
Making T1 ships will often devalue your materials, so don't build anything unless you've checked that the price of it is high at the moment and you will sell it for more than you spend making it.
This includes material price, manufacturing tax, sales tax and possibly transportation tax if you're making in bulk and getting people to move your shit for you.
You aren't doing the last part, but it's still likely that you will actually lose money by building the thing you want to build.

Yeah it's MOSTLY used for POS fuel but you're right, some of that shit has important manufacturing uses. Low barrier to entry means it's still not super valuable. Still, if you do some basic cost analysis (I do mean BASIC) and get a few good planets with low taxes, it's not a bad way to make some extra dollars.

minmatar battlecruiser 5 is a long skill, it's a x6, so let's say if you aren't remapped for it and aren't using implants, a x1 skill from level 1-5 is like 5 days, so 30 days or something. minmatar battlecruiser 5 is ok, it's not nearly as useful as cruiser 5, but it's not useless.

It wouldn't matter much because of skill injectors. And if you overdo it you end up being able to fly things you cannot afford.
For a new player, the single most impactful thing is getting his economy started. You need to earn ISK reliably. Some people do incursions, some people do industry, some trading, some fight for territory, etc., you'll have to pick your flavour and get good enough to be able to depend on it.
This however, cannot be achieved with simply a jumpstart of SP. You have to be there, you have to know the meta, you have to know what you're doing, you have to have connections, things you earn by playing. Play the game and the SP will come, the time barrier is your own skill and not the queue.
