The weapon balance in 4U is really fucked. Apart from some weapons getting shat on underwater, everything is fairly close in power level in 3U, but in 4U everything not in about the top seven weapons got shafted pretty hard while the top four weapons are absurdly overbuffed (GS, IG, CB and HBG).

What's the point of head sniping with close combat since MH3U? Deviljho, for example, can now randomly do a bite attack when you stand behind him instead of a normal turn, in Tri he only did this in rage mode and even then not always. Teostra in MH4U can charge at you after LITERALLY every single opening. It can work great but you can also, as stated, get hit every single time you inflicted some damage. Hammer and even GS sometimes get completely buttfucked.
Is Capcom retarded? Did they stop test their games? Did some key developer leave the team after Tri?
Even with Evasion +3 you can't help it, since you get hit before you can even dodge in Teostra's case.

Why is there so little information on gunning weapons in Generations? I mean shit, there's so much info to have to deal with, between weapon and shot types, especially with Generations including built-in shots and elemental pierces. Yet there's little to no info on style comparisons, which weapons are worth a damn (especially since Gunners don't get Obtuse Blade), or really much of anything. I just want to try out HBG after being a Blademaster for the past few games, goddamnit.

An IG is better against fatalis but it can be done with either a bow or lbg. I don't have and good hbgs so I haven't tried it out yet.
Does latent power cancel out challenger+2?
I have a set with latent power +1, minds eye, and challenger+2 since my hand goes from red to blue after 5 minutes while the monster is still enraged I'm not sure if it stacks or not.

How important is getting any kind of +artlillery skill compared to the others for GL?
I keep trying to make sets with the stuff I have on hand and they either come out looking good but without artillery, or having artillery and looking like an utter clown
I retrofit my honed blade set with honed/challenger +1/artillery novice/evasion +1 using a wide GL but It feels like having challenger doesn't work with the GL. I can drop challenger and have Honed/E+1/Artillery+3.
Is this a terrible set? The Savage Jho GL only has shot lv3 so maybe not having artillery isn't the biggest loss.
Might just skip the whole thing and wait till Generations to play around with it.

Honed Blade PLUS Challenger+2 is the biggest boost on any weapon; then comes Razor Sharp if available, then skills like Artillery and such.
I would recommend making an Artillery set for monsters with very low raw/element weakness, otherwise it's not really worth boosting.

And you don't even get the charge multiplier for anything that isn't sleep/para/blast.
So you need to land all the arrows if rapid 3-4-5 during 10 shots to reach a 150 KO threshold.

Seregios SA is what I used to kill it, didn't take longer than 15 minutes my first try. You DO have some form of Devilish Swordsman/energy charge, right? You ARE using Striker/Guild style right? Full Ratholos/Silver Sol will get you through that fight as far as armor goes.

4th charge is fairly shit on it's own.
You'll need Irregular Shot Up to give it some more oomph via Power Shot, and you'll want your 4th charge to be the same as your 3rd, so you're not dicking around with two different shot types.

Sure is. There's a homebrew to extract and inject saves, a computer program to encrypt/decrypt MH4U saves, and another to edit them. Editing charms isn't the most straightforward thing within the program, but it's not too hard to find out how to change them as you like.

You miss out on carves, but you get 2-3 Capture rewards that come from a separate drop table.
For example, You will never carve plates/gems off a Rath's body, but you can get them by capturing them.
You can still get them from part breaks and tail carves, but captures will net you extra chances.

Monsters can have different drops based on death/cap.
You can carve Plates and gems off Gore, but capping it can earn you extra Feelers instead.
Each monster is different, so you'll need to look up whether capping or carving is better for the part you're chasing.

I ripped the nipple stick from the 3ds and replaced it with a psp thumb stick /mhg/ . i cant understand how i have played so long with the crappy default stick. The is 100x better I won't ever look back.

They are about the same size if I remember they are just a hit smaller.
You need a psp1000 stick tho and when its installed it makes it so much easyer since you have more surface area to put the weight on

Very easy rip it out and pop the PSP thumb stick. If the thumb stick isn't fitting twist a screwdriver on the PSP thumbstick a bit.

What? Didn't the nub work via pressure sensitivity over its surface instead if just being a tiny directional stick?
I once asked here and the 3ds general (why does a platform have a general?) If it was a good idea to carve a grid pattern on it and people told me not to do it because of that.

It works by pressure yes, and it reads four separate directions as far as I can tell (i.e. no diagonals, just like CPP).
It's just way easier to make inputs pressing on a disc like the psp cap compared to that eraser-head bullshit.
