I do sorta a mix of all the modes, classic and hardcore. I guess I spend a lot of time on control points and respecting the robot.
I've been using the Vision Pulse or Purifier for specialist abilities. Killstreak is just an easy UAV, Care Package, CUAV. I can honestly barely land the UAV half the time. Pack a 4 shot launcher on all my classes where I can afford it. One loadout is Dingo/iron/grip/rapid with engineer, cold blooded, blind eye, flash bangs, frag. VMP/extended mags/fast mags/laser flash bangs, stun, gun-ho.
No idea what sorta fucking AR to use and I'll never touch a sniper rifle. I can't into aiming with a controller.

I did it with a friend over our winter break, it was terrible. On the flipside, completing every mission on Veteran without dying was pretty easy after that.
For you PC guys having trouble launching the game after the latest patch, there are a few things you can try. PCDev recommended disabling AV and your firewall (wtf), which didn't work for me. Doing a clean boot worked for me. I then had to repair Steam to connect to VAC servers. Hopefully that works for you guys.

I forgot to mention the best loadout for realistic. Don't worry about trying to get your 600 kills with every weapon on realistic. Use Drakon + thermal, fast mags, FMJ, and anything else you can throw on there. Use emergency reserve, and the ability that deflects explosives. Spam fireflies and immolate. Take it slow. That should help decrease the frustration. Good luck soloing that shit, you absolutely need a friend to do it with even with this cheese class.

Can somebody who is more experienced at sniping tell me why the SVG is shit? I'm using it after using the locus, and it's not just the bolt speed that is fucking me over. It feels so sluggish and slow compared to the Locus, I feel like I can quickly snap and get kills far off when peeking around a corner with the locus, while not sacrificing scoping down a hallway control when I have to stay still. I'm lucky to even get a few kills with the SVG

I'm proud of those stats. I always play solo and never ever quit a game before it's over. It's nearly impossible to statwhore as a solo player.

Here's a tip: If you think you stand a chance of winning on score alone, you can easily just kill one or two with a sniper or something then suicide off an edge or with C4 to deny them a chance at revenge. Respawn, wash rinse repeat. I've won 1vs4 TDM like this before.

My W/L is a 3.35 but it was way higher on BO2 because I always played with these 2 dudes. My K/D is only a 2.2 as well which is pretty low. I stopped playing videogames for about a 2 years...so the whole jumping boosting bullshit is so foreign, which is why my stats is so shit.
