I exhausted all dialogue options at Venti's place long time ago, got Amber and Dylas together for my party a couple of times by now and still haven't activated the event the wiki mentions. Am I doing something wrong? Is there some waiting period after act2 I don't know about?
I'm not really much in a hurry. Farming life is comfy now that I'm done with the story (I have tendency to rush through the main plot in RF games) and I'm yet to chose my waifu, which is far more difficult than I've expected. Why is every single one of them so perfect?

Basically you have to game the event RNG, I wrote up a guide for the pastebin faq I posted last thread.
Events occur randomly and often with little sign they've started. While largely driven by RNG, you can game the events system to a certain degree to try and trigger certain events.
- A character involved in an event will always leave your party, so recruit members likely to be involved in desired events like bachelor/ettes. A list of events and participants can be found at http://therunefactory.wikia.com/wiki/Random_Events_%28RF4%29
- Event determination is two separate RNG rolls: the first roll determines when an event will occur and can happen a week or more in advance, while the second roll is performed the day of the event and determines what event actually happens.
- To find an event day, recruit two characters from two different events you haven't had, save your game and sleep for several days at a time before reloading and repeating. Take note of days that seem to trigger party member departures with high frequency, as that's likely a pre-set event day
- Reload and play through days as normal until the night before a potential event day, then save, sleep and reload if nothing happens. If a party member runs off, check the diary to see what event's happening, and reload and try again until you get a desired event.

Right now she does light novel illustrations (and hopefully is working at Marvelous with former Rune Factory devs on a new game). Around the turn of the millennium her characters had more pronounced noses and dramatic lighting/shading, a side-effect of working at Atlus for two years under Kaneko before returning to Falcom. Is it possible to return that miner's key to him? I tried talking to him shortly after the mine incident and nothing prompted returning the key to him. Do I need to walk back there and find him now that the matter is reported or am I just going to hold his key forever?

Extra traffic. We hit a pretty rough spot where pretty much every thread was dying prematurely for a while, especially during the early-morning/early-afternoon slowdown periods, so we came up with various ideas about how to fight it and one of them (mine, in fact) was to fold other Xseed stuff into the mix and unite under that banner (and it was also a good excuse to include Return to PoPoLoCrois, which technically wasn't an SoS title despite the tie-in angle).
It's hardly a perfect approach, and we've still had two premature archives (one at ~650/225 in the dead of night, the other around ~11:00 PM EST Sunday) but it does seem like there's an overall uptick of activity, even if it's only an extra 50 posts a topic. We used to take over a week to fill a thread, now on average we seem to do it in 5.5-6.5 days.

There is something strangely absurd about that sailor suit, though perhapsit's because of the connotations of sailor suits in modern perv culture and all the AdolxDogi bara art I've had to wade through over the years. It's like you see him wearing that and you know what position he's in in that situation.

I'm waiting for more details on how the Drifting Village works before assuming the game's going to force you out of dungeons just because it's under attack or something. Someone compared the Drifting Village to Sen no Kiseki II's Courageous, since they're both hub areas you can expand and outfit according to your needs and however much you want to customize a playthrough. My hope is the defense missions are story-driven, not random crap, as the Dengeki text implies you get separated from Dogi after one of them, meaning they're planned events with significance to the plot beyond window dressing.
Obviously they're stretching the limits of the party-system exploration adventure style introduced in Seven. Support events seem like a way to safely 100% explore Siren Island, which is useful if you're into that.
