I don't know much about BP, but when I last played him, I remember him being pretty boring? You essentially threw down some cooldown skills and held your melee. I guess you could say Gambit (or most melee heroes) are similar to that, but his rotation is a bit faster and has more AoE to it. I can't say much for his current survivability, though, since I don't really play Gambit a ton.

Depends on the hero and whether or not they're spirit starved. Personally I'd just go with a Godkiller if spirit isn't an issue, and even if it was, just grab a 3000/100 core or wait. The 20% XP is pretty useful.

also remember the spirit on kill only activates once per second regardless of how many enemies killed. so if you take out a group of 30 mobs your only getting 25 spirit.

It was a really fun co op experience. There was a couple really cool tricks in it too. Like using NC to get through levels super quick with your partner, and both players squatting next to each other to share life. That was handy if someone was playing Wolverine.
I played through the first and second with a cousin. Man those games were pretty challenging.
