As a bronze ryu it's good to know when it's safe to hadouken, learn the range of your attacks, practise jump ins and learn the best time to dp at different angles. Important to learn tricky jumps that start near you as if you reaction dp to those you're gonna miss and eat a shitton of damage

When you see two players get into those long distance fireball battles where they're both cancelling each other's out, is the goal of these usually for one of the players to take the little speed advantage he started with in throwing the fireballs to gradually get the other guy to block one of them and use that to take space? Watching two players just cancel out each other's fireballs always was hard to get for me because I was never sure what the end goal of it was for either player, but is the purpose of these encounters for one player trying to get the other guy to block a fireball and get pushed back and put in lag and the other guy trying to delay this as much as possible?

I had been focused on getting in over all else at all times. I felt that how Haitani handled him was to take what he was given, but otherwise play a slower, much more fundamental game. Since Necalli can't truly compete with most characters in midrange footsies, his focus became finding openings to use vskill as much as possible to build vtrigger as fast as possible. Then, once he has that, he'll raw activate just to have the improvements on deck, and only then starting going insane.
The sort of risks Haitani would regularly take when vtriggered were how I was playing at all times, which isn't something Necalli does well outside of trigger. Necalli has just enough tools to stall until he can make his opponent block or eat a few seismos, maybe get CCed a few times, and then go ham with much more health remaining to wager on risks than I was used to.He also showed me the value of jabbing on wakeup like a shithead to piss off my opponent when they fuck up their meaties, which also helps you identify when an opponent does not deserve your respect. He further showed off the usefulness of 'wide' frame traps to explode people who delay throw tech in fear of Necalli's tight, 3-frame traps. He would do things like low jab stand fierce, which leaves a very wide 8 frame gap, but mixed with the tight frame traps, makes your opponent frustrated between your tight traps that crush jabs, and wide traps which crush wait-and-tech.

I get rekt in ranked first to see what strings people like to do and then what I do is go to training mode and see what I can punish with stLK or whatever on block. If it's too bad just vreversal out for breathing room. I never thought I'd get rushed down by a gief but glad I learned the hard way
also putting the dummy on random block helps with confirms which you'll need to work on in sfv. I still have hella trouble with stuff myself so I just try to read/guess an opponent's moves or patterns and rely on that too much. been studying neutral game lately but apparently not enough
