I basically use the bare minimum grade of fulton & lowest ammo count (you can upgrade to get guns/vehicles/etc still.), and use tranqs/cqc/hold ups as needed. I only fulton vehicles/emplacements and exceptionally good soldiers when every threat has been neutralized. I also extract all PoWs via chopper regardless of condition, just because it makes getting them out more tense. Of course, I go full 'tism and remain in the field as long as possible before going back to mother base, start missions while in the field, call in supply drops as needed, etc.
I will say that playing this way in a fresh save has made the game more exciting, even though it's still not amazing. Doing Angel With Broken Wings this way was awesome, because that supply depot can be a genuine cunt when you don't fulton every fucking threat away.

There's no new blueprints, staff rewards are the same as last time. They've got one new uniform, a few weapon and mother base colors if you care about that sort of thing. Pretty standard shit.
Fortunately, Skulls is notoriously easy to farm for event points, so you can easily get all of them in pretty quick order.

Just shoot them with the Serval Grade 5. I literally do the same thing as before, get on the helipad, hit them with the c4, now I just immediatly switch to the serval and go ham on them.
It adds maybe 30 seconds to the total run time, fighting just 4 Skulls was never hard, and this hasn't really made it harder.
They take the C4 away, I'm sure once they see how easy it is with the Serval they'll take that away.

Maybe they just fell flat to me because I was able to kill the skulls flat out the first time you come across them, so they never seemed like anything I had to worry about.
I mean, I thought they were just going to be minibosses, or elite troops or something, kinda like how Walker Gears were. But no, they're half the boss fights in the game.

What made the Volgin fight good was that you had one boss to focus your attention on and multiple ways to take him on, a group of annoying enemies just isn't as memorable. I'm kind of proud I found the "Hit him with a car until he finally falls into the water pool" method out myself even though it doesn't require a genius, I was just nervous as fuck during the fight.
He may not work as a boss fight but instead of that boring Skull Face speech with information we could have obtained another way we could have had a nice Jeep chase with Skull Face for examplewhile SotF plays

Well, I got spotted, so I decided to fight it out, and it was pretty underwhelming. They weren't particularly tough, I just needed to make sure I didn't take too much damage, but they aren't smart, they don't have much to them. They just teleport around and shoot you and they take more bullets than the average schmuck.
The Man on Fire fight was good because, agreed, you had multiple ways of taking him down, you needed to figure it out for yourself, even if you didn't know he was Volgin, The Man on Fire still had more screen presence to him, he had more interesting attacks, overall, he felt far more menacing and dangerous and was a lot more memorable.
But even he was a let down, none of the bosses have any personality because they're all these mindless fucks that don't talk, none of have any interesting twist to them, they don't require you to have mastered anything beyond basic run and gunning to beat, they don't force you to take advantage of unique gameplay, it sort of just fails by a lot of the standards you expect from a boss in general, let alone a Metal Gear Solid boss.
Platnium games created bosses that felt more in line with Metal Gear and were far more memorable than these guys.

Skull Face in TPP only really gives us a grand monologue on the jeep ride, he never really has a back and forth with Venom or any of the other main characters over ideology. Nor do any of his henchmen and lieutenants.
I'm saying TPP could have used some bosses with some color to them, something interesting beyond just bullet sponge.
TPP needed some boss characters that brought interesting personalities and gameplay like you usually see in MGS games. Hell, even something like the BnB corps were way better than the shit we got in TPP.

Anyone else just feel entirely underwhelmed by the MGO DLC? The new game mode is retarded. Out of the three new maps, two of them are garbage. The poses were okay, made the game feel more MGS-ey.
I literally bought all of it the day it came out, played for a few hours, and haven't touched it since. Why can't they add anything with any sort of resemblance to MGO2? How about a new frog and duck game? I honestly wish it never came out.

their servers are trash and don't sync my stats. i notice it happens to other people too, when they load into a match they don't even have a letter rank. eventually it just defaults us to F. i've been stuck at level 11 for 2 weeks.
I haven't been reading about the series since I finished V last year about a month after launch.

What if there was a mgo game mode where it was more focused on walker gears? Like everyone has a walker gear at spawn and they are more stronger and faster than the ones currently in the build. There might be some objective, or it would just be a straight up duel. They could make it where theres a larger more powerful d walker and you either win by your team spending the most time in it or it gets destroyed or something. Maybe you could even have your own walker gear slots, where each one is customised and all your characters can use them. I want to see the walker gear utilized more dammit.
