A: Yes, but you should remember a few things.

What do you mean? None of the games will run on that 2.1 NAND, obviously, and that's about the only way you could tell that it's actually working. If you don't get an error saying it can't recognize the SD card then you should be good to go. If you do, you might have to try a different card, like the one that came with your 3DS (you only need OTPhelper and the 9.2 pristine SysNAND backup on it).
The browser exploit is somewhat unstable on 2.1, it can take a few tries (and possibly a wipe of browser data).
