Mostly I just feel like no one at this level can fucking draft, and given that team comps in HOTS is so crucial not knowimg how to draft blows fucking games
Id say at sub rank 20 i get maybe 1 in 8 or 9 drafts that ill feel good about, the rest of them are full of first pick tassadars and raynors, people picking medic into greymane, people not being able to fill roles effectivley because they only own a handful of 2k and 4k gold heros, people still drafting sylvanas because they're fresh out of the cancer QM meta, etc etc etc, not to mention its pretty common that they have little notion of how to play and win games
Like it just sucks, because i do like HOTS, but it doesn't have that LoL or DOTA maximum efficiency meta where most of the gameflow has already been mapped out and you dont have to worry about your Jinx or Garen or whomever being rediculously out of position and trying to jungle or something just because everyone who plays LoL just knows that that's not what you're supposed to do when you play those champs
So for someone like me, who watches pro HOTS and shit and wants to be a full tryhard and take the game really seriously, theres like no fucking opprotunity to do that because at my rank, probably over 90% of the players are hypercasual and it makes it feel impossible to rank up, because every fucking game it feels like you have 1 or 2 complete fucking retards who are throwing

Part of the problem is the amount of players in the system. In a standard matchmaking system, over enough games it will have a pretty good idea of how you stack up against MOST of the other players. It might not be 100% accurate in the exact spot, but it should know you're better than that guy that thinks gazlowe is hot shit, and worse than the pro that can land 100% of all his skillshots as lemming. The point is with not enough people, this type of differentiation is harder to pinpoint. If you look at LoL, it's a fairly accurate statement that everyone in bronze has no idea how to properly CS. By extension, the people in gold likely have an idea about it, but probably have room for improvement. With enough people in the system, there are distinct areas that you can tell where people stack up and are legitimately better/worse, but without that playerbase, you end up having silvers being matched up with plats not because they were queue'd together, but because there isn't anyone in between at that time queueing to take the spot.
I'm not saying this is the problem, I'm saying I wouldn't be surprised if this was part of the problem.

Holy shit this is actually insane. iirc Tychus does like 6 attacks per second fully spinned up (which is always now), which means he can take ~30% of a hero's health without even factoring in aa damage. And that's on a 12 second cooldown.
