I've actually had an idea which I think might be worth picking up the basics of BYOND coding and trying to implement but I figured I'd post here first and see if you lot are actually interested.
Should I see if I can change firelocks to only block areas with pressure/temperate differentials large enough to knock people over? Having a bunch of firelocks blocking access between areas with similar kPa seems to irk a lot of people, and this would let airlocks still fulfill their main purpose but impede movement as minimally as possible. Issues I can see are the lack of airlocks on maintenance fucking with a larger area, and both good and bad changes to station atmosphere propagating faster in already effected areas. I'm not entirely sure if this tradeoff would be worth it to, so weigh in please.

Yeah, but I'm thinking more like if there's not much of a difference they shouldn't even deploy at all. I feel like the intention is to provide buffer areas for atmospheric problems, but mostly people just run right through them with crowbars regardless so they really only end up impeding movement.
