Ideally, if it's an IS 'Mech it's a Raven, given the quirks it gets.
Aside from that, Enhanced NARC module. No exceptions. Being fast enough to hit and run should be a given, but- don't slap one on a 'Mech that can't spit a pod out and get away. People learn fast not to let one out of sight if they can kill the guy causing missiles to dump on them.
Clan NARC is superior in every aspect, although again use the module- and you can actually fit one on some mediums without losing too much firepower thanks to the lower weight requirements.

How does Timber stack up vs Ebon in mount placement?
It seems like Ebon would be better for hillpoking but the trial timber doesn't have anything in its high mounts so I don't really have any way to compare them.

Both have over the cockpit laser mount, with Timber having 3 slots to the Ebins 2. Ebin also has a over the cockpit ballistic slot.
In theory, Ebin is better for the gauss + 2xlpl1mlas build, but Timber also has Jump Jets, which are crucial for hillhump maps like Canyon.

They would be restricted to a single mech (Night Gyr) so they can emulate the special ability of laser sinks through quirks while the sinks themselves are just renamed doubles. The Hellslinger already has the quirk that reduces the effects of environmental heat; the Night Gyr only needs a 100% version of that.
Actually they don't even need to rename it. I don't think most would mind if they were still listed as doubles in the mechlab. The most difficult part would be to create the art and unique graphical assets which will be used solely for one mech.

It is extremely difficult to kill anything except slow lights and mediums in a short period of time. You would have to have a ridiculous amount of large lasers in order to have a one-shot alpha, and that's only going to work on small mechs with low HP.

I flipped the lasers because it would mean that losing either shoulder still means you're still most of your mech in terms of sustained damage.
In essence, all this does is let your streakcrow pick off slightly bigger prey by actually going after open components. They pretty much play identically.

Also, as for the half ton ammo, I'd prefer the leg armor over the extra half-ton. 4.5 tons is already enough, and 60 points isn't all that much if someone's trying to leg you, especially with slow chicken-leg hitboxes.
