Well root double is a infinity vn, and its considered pretty high up there like they all are. Go read any infinity vn and then understand why its rated that high. They are pretty wacky, have a lot to think about, and for remember 11 on /jp/ we had to have threads just to understand actually what happened. Theres a infinity timeline to see how everything happened date wise from never 7 to remember 11.

It uses a lot of odd meta and sci-fi. He's just is one partner of the two. and both combined to make Root double again.

Actually the VN placed relatively mediocre. It's not in the quarters/semi/finals, because he made a remark at one point that his project was out already.
Some other hints:
- it's not Sakura no Uta ("No but I'd like to work on it in the future" when asked if it was his project)
- it's not Dies Irae/Light game
- it's not ChuSinGara
- the game is long and rated above 85 on EGS

The Witcher 3 is the hardest game to play simply because it doesn't want you to play it.
Everything is tedious, walking even with alt moment has you bumping into shit or platforming poorly. HORRIBLE pacing, awful combat, shallow characters, shit crafting, obtuse menus and inventory, terrible UI design, miserable character progression and stupid quest scaling along with loot.
