Collect charms from monster drops. Combine these with pouches (buy from summoning store), spirit shards (buy from store or GE), and a specific ingredient (varies based on the item you want to make, it will say in the skills tab) at a LARGE obelisk (there is one in Taverley). You now have pouches of a specific familiar.
ie a pouch, 7 spirit shards, a Gold charm, and wolf bones makes a Spirit wolf pouch.
>Use
Left click the pouch. This summons the familiar. Over time this will drain your summoning level (similar to how prayers worked before EoC). The familiar only stays for a set amount of time, but it always does useful things for you. What it does varies based on the familiar.
ie. Summon a spirit wolf to fight for you, a Thorny Snail will carry items for you.
I'm fairly certain Wolf Whistle is basically a tutorial for this skill.

i don't. i'm fully concentrated into the game. like when i run agility courses, i make a little game in my head trying to make out patterns of failures and success. i then imagine how my character would have behaved in reality. perhaps he tried a different method of jumping because he failed the last lap but it only made things worse, which is why i failed 4 times in a row

Here's a tip. Don't train Summoning until dxp weekend. Save up charms and spirit gems and plan out what you're going to use beforehand.
When you get your combat level up, monsters will drop more and better charms and you'll be able to grind them more efficiently. Get a charming imp from dungeoneering, attach it to your tool belt and you'll never have to pick them up yourself again.
If even this is too much for you then you're probably a shitter and should give up now.

Just do slayer man, You'll get enough charms to get to a decent level unless you want to train it all the way to 99. Or else, just kill add "bork" to your daily tasks. Takes like 5 minutes to kill and adds a lot of charms. Or, do familiarization and farm at waterfiends for triple charms every week.
If you dung, then get the charming imp and place him on the toolbelt using a skill you buy at a slayer master. He'll collect all charms automatically so you don't have to pick them up.

Both Bonecrusher and Chimp are quality of life items. And while a lot of things drop bones at low levels, it can seem important. One of the reasons to get chimp over bonecrusher is that charms are the limiting factor in summoning more often than not. You can buy bones and offer them at a PoH altar, but you can't buy charms.

We don't know if they have "better drops." Look at the Elite Mobs with their t85 weapons. A nex item being dropped is something like 1/20, and barring RDT shitdrops her drop table is pretty generous. Even if the new GWD2 bosses use the drop rates of GWD bosses, that's still something like 1 in a couple hundred kills per gear drop, and they won't be 5 second kills like GWD.
