Day 1: Till, add fertilizer, plant seeds
Day 2: Water
Day 3: Water
Day 4: Water
Day 5+: Water
Day X: Pick crops, reseed
With most of the player choice being how you choose to clear out the shithole mess you always start with.
It's like a city builder, it's about making something that looks cool rather than the exact process of making it.

So how good are fruit trees? I'm a couple of days from finishing my first spring, and I have the money to buy an apple tree, maybe a pomegranate tree if I hurry up. But I checked on the wiki rather than going blind, and it says that they produce 1 fruit a day. At 280g per apple that's 2800 on a month, not counting silver and gold stars. It'll take at least 2 seasons for the tree to pay for itself. Is that right?

The rest of my farm are animals, a small fruit tree orchard, and a maple Grove for syrup. I keep some of each harvest for cooking, and most of the milk and eggs and sell the rest.
This gives me enough money so that I can buy most things I need, and cook food for gifts for villagers and my wife. The rest of my farm is woods that I built paths through so I can walk around. It's the most comfy way I found to play the game.

Animals, when bought will start out as babies(even the pigs which are supposed to be trained) and take some time to grow. They'll still need to eat during that time albeit at half the rate, taking 2 days to consume 1 pile of hay.
Their produce also sell for extremely cheap when unprocessed, a chicken egg wouldn't even be able to pay off the hay they're eating if you're buying them.

Your main travel route is going to be from the farm/mine to the spa for energy. The minecarts only really help for checking the quarry reasonably quickly and for going from mines to Clint.

When people first play things like Sim City they always go for grids everywhere, because square shapes are easy and efficient.
But they're also boring.
Just put down shapes that look somewhat natural even if they're inefficient. Rather than a 9x3 box of crops, have it bend into an L shape, or have a sprawl of different crop types even if you can't completely cover it exactly with sprinklers or scarecrows
Give up patches of farmland to just have grass or wild trees haphazardly, just remove rocks and the twigs that look rough.
Path around these little patches you make with different types of path, say stone for your "main" path, but then gravel or cobblestone for little alleyways.
Try to avoid straight edges to things and a farm really starts to look cozy.

C is the basic of programming language. Easy to get into not much use outside of engineering They are needed on machine application(vending machine, lift, etc) often.
C++ is high level language . High level means it's less machine language more human language. Unfortunately, it is the hardest language to learn according to compsci. Not recommended for beginner or without proper schooling.
I would suggest c# because of its popularity in game making currently(fez used it, xbox use it) which means there's more tutorials out there to google. C# is like java but made by microsoft. They are as easy to learn as java imo.
If you only want to make game i would suggest game maker engine. Learning language take times. I am talking about minimal 6 months for learning the language alone if you are dedicated. The payoff is you have more control of the game. And then you need to find games library like monogame or xna to help coding games easier in c#.
