This is definitely one of my favorites as well. There's something about the size of the world that makes it seem way larger and more detailed when you have the W1 view. Especially in Novigrad, the buildings are just bigger for whatever reason.
I haven't played since HoS but I just checked up on mods and the W2 armor mod should be essential . Any armor that isn't witcher gear or the Redanian halberdier armor looks disgustingly bad. Such a disappointment when they added so much emphasis to loot compared to the first game, and also with the possibilities the concept art showed. W2 armor mod actually makes me want to use thing other than witcher gear.
Scabbard mod also seems like something the game should have had on release.
So, are there gonna be any interesting characters from the books in BaW?

Guys I have a couple of questions to the GOG Galaxy client.
Is it possible to install GOG on one PC, download a game (say TW3), then transfer it to another PC? I don't mean pirating, I just mean I have 2 computers, 1 is a toaster but with a great internet connection and one is my rig but it has a shit connection. I want to download the game onto my toaster fast and then via an external HDD transfer it to my gaymen rig.

Played this when it came out (pirate) and got to the point in the story where you go to some big criminal's underground arena in Novigrad, I must have been like level 13?
Never went to Skellige either but I did a fair amount of side quests in White Orchard and in the Novigrad area.
I went and bought the game and the HoS expansion the other day and I'll probably just start a new game even though my old saves are there.
