After seeing Payday get a sequel and it turning out into what it was (EVEN BEFORE the game went full microtransactions and DLC whoring) I was hoping Killing Floor would at least remain untouched.
But alas, I have learned that even the most "innocent" of indie devs will fall for temptations so great.
Early Access for more money, DLC and preorder bonuses, total neglect of the core playerbase, the list goes on.

Basically the 1858 is broken. Whoever was working on its texture apparently made a hardcoded glossyness and reflectiveness exception so they are not affected in any way by any changes. Even the textures you're not allowed to change are entirely unaffected.

I never speedrun or shit on any map. An average Hell on Earth game lasts like 40 minutes if you give out no casualties, no last man standing zerk clutches. If team is good, holding 3-way spot near a main specimen stream and shit, it reduces time down to 35 mins. That's the fastest I have seen at the moment, but holding a 3-way is not the easiest task to do in the game.

Katana for trash and kiting FP when you really need to chop your way out to front spawns. Lever-action is for long range Siren and Husk kills and picking Crawlers off from you. LaR is single shot and reloading can be interrupted at any given moment to swap back to your melee to maintain speed.
If you are good and can time your attacks and confident that you have 15 meters of space to kite down; it's possible to kill a Scrake with Katana only as well.

If you really liked Claymore, you can pair it with Katana and a MK23. But beware that MK23 has mag based reload.
Do NOT fall to a common mistake and buy M79, most of the experienced players have bad memories with this type of zerks. Despite what other zerk players tell you M79 is only a troll tool at the hand of zerks. Don't be surprised that you get a kickvote when you buy it and your teammates found out. Also when roaming, nuking down the trailing horde at your back will cause them to burst from front spawns.

Pipe stacks, kiting him around an obstacle, Flare+bow Medic clutch kite, Sharp xbow lock, zerk melee lock. You can find shitload of vids online.

Preferred at narrow halls, Medic and Zerk preferred.
Medic can goomba/ride him with bile thrower to pin him down. Although, Medic or zerk can melee lock him with a simple knife, machete or katana.
When someone locking Demolition can L.A.W headshot, Firebug can crouch and unleash Flare Revolver or Husk cannon headshots. Support can empty both AA12 and Combat to head once crouched AND positioned behind a medic.
Do NOT throw dry explosion nades at Patriarch when someone locking as it may fuck up the locking frequency. Same thing applies with M32 bodyshots as it pushes him. Try to land as much headshot as possible. L.A.W is profound to be better as a Demo when someone locking.
2. You lay scattered traps, stick close and open focused fire.
Preferred at large areas or crosspaths where you can keep your formation, 2 commandos help to track him and cancels his healing
Demo lays scattered pipes at narrow hallways close up gates and on top of staircases. When he cannot figure it out he only lays pipe at the behind of team. When team stick close Patriarch will not use its charge attack. It's "crucial" to spread away to focus fire him when you located him.
Preferably a semi-circle formation will work. Some peeps may get ZED v1 rifle to stasis him by focusing on its head that makes things easier and makes him weak against DoT attacks like heal/neuro gas and fire. After he kneeled, you have to keep your close up formation and wait for him again.
3. Three people sweep attack lock while others clear trash around.
Can be done almost anywhere with enough flat space.
Three people preferably at least 2 zerks and a medic can trigger his deadly sweep attack and whack him again to keep him pinned. Requires team work and timed whacks and healing nades.
Man, what I REALLY REALLY love about KF1 is the variety of weapons. Like, holy shit.. I played demo and there was ahuge arsenal to choose from. The harpoon gun was fun but weak, the M4 203 was awesome, a gun to use and a noob toob on it. The seer six and the seal nade launcher were also weak but fun to kill trash with, and as always the M32 to launch a volley of nades and throw smoke everywhere pissing off everyone.

It's pretty decently balanced, funnily enough. It has a pretty generous blast radius which works more against you than for you, at least when I played with my friend. The damage isn't enough to kill a gorefast, but it works great against everything else. The best part is it's hilariously fun to use.
