Most people don't have my autism like that, but it offers their content plausible deniability when it comes to setting card effects. For instance, did you know that Loatheb didn't actually stop spellcasting, and that DPS casters with his effect were actually batshit insane in DPS? But they took the core component - no healing - and made it "no casting"

See the thing i don't get is that Blizz says over and over that they dislike OTK decks and nerfed Warsong and will nerf FoN/Roar and Anyfin via Murk Eye...
Then they're printing essentially a pre-built deck that centers around an OTK with C'Thun (I imagine ppl will add in Brann or Brewmaster for multiple nukes)
Why? It's bad enough we only get 134 cards and an eighth of them only support one gimmick. Now that gimmick is basically an intentional OTK.

Building on that, you could run those cards plus 20 control-ish ones to ensure you survive to play all the buffs and thr big bad. Heals, taunts, removals and maybe some fatties that require an answer right away and an emperor tick here or there would basically guarantee the nuke goes off.
The buffing guys all have viable stats too and some impressive effects like +10 armor for Warrior or 4/10 for Druid.
And as we already know from Brokeback, 22 direct damage from the hand is kind of a problem. This time you can't even mitigate it with Taunt.
Seems a little too much but we'll have to see what the other non gimmick cards are like to judge.

Classic. Those cards are permanent.
Arena is good if you have coin or cash. Teaches you how to trade and if you get gud the rewards are nice, granting back your entry fee and rewarding a pack or two.
Look at some infinite Arena players on streams. Find videos of them you can pause and try to learn and understand what they play, when, and why. Btw infinite means they win 7 to 12 matches every time and can then use the reward funds to keep playing AND buy packs. No need to spend cash ever once you reach that level.
Don't bother with GvG since it's going to be Wild Only in a month and a half. Get some TGT packs after your basic and expert collection is decent. Most of those cards are mediocre but some are kinda decent.

It's not so much overpowered as it is forgiving. You can misplay the fuck out of it and still win as long as you play on curve. That's why the biggest complaint about it is "autopilot: the deck"

Curving out well with high value minions every turn, then playing a 6/6 for 6 with battle cry "Summon a 2/1 taunt the enemy cant remove, that will ressurect without taunt when killed, as well as buffing a random friendly minion for +3/2 after something dies, and your one minion left alive after the enemy clears everything else gets 1/1"
Is a strong play for sure. But its still just a high value minion. It wins more if you're winning, can push you in the lead if you're tied, and slightly hampers an enemy if you're behind
AND it relies on drawing well to begin with. If you draw into secrets early but didnt get to play them with an early secretkeeper you're pretty much fucked
Compared to freeze mage's "Im never gonna die then Im gonna generate 2-4 fireballs from antoniadas then Im gonna alex you then Im gonna kill you and theres nothing you can do about it"
Or shamans "Good luck gettint to turn 5"

You generally want cheap minions so you can do more than hero power your first 2-3 turns. With some matchups you want removal. For example if you are playing mage and facing a shaman, mulligan hard for frostbolt to immediately remove the turn 1 trogg before he can rape your face with it.

Decided to check out what cost minions would do what in the brawl. I wanted to see the best curve for a malygos deck by seeing which value minions would be likely to give spell damage affected spells. The middle column is spells with spell damage that can "kinda" go face, like avenging wrath or fist of jarraxus. Some of the stuff in other would still be amazing to draw. The interesting thing is how you can always rely on 9 mana drops to give you tree of life. If you can survive to that point in the game and sacrifice some HP for tempo somehow this could be a really good approach.

I liked how in the TCG warrior weapons had infinite durability, but cost mana to swing, so they could keep controlling the board by sacrificing health or tapping armor, but could only swing one at a time.
Their really expensive cards (6 or 7 mana) let them deal their weapon's damage to 2 or 3 minions, but they still couldn't reliable just destroy a board.They did have execute, and other cheap removal to get rid of one big card though, but that was their specialty.

The problem with force/savage is that you can just slap them into any druid deck and then basically play a standard midrange game until you drop a ridiculous combo with only 2 cards that gets stronger with each minion on your board. Compare to freeze where the entire deck is based around it and you have to fight for your life to get the direct damage combo off.

Nigga it has already been SPECIFICALLY stated that only C'thun is doing this whole buff thing. The other Old Gods will be their own thing.
Further, it has also been explicitly stated that there are only 16 C'thun synergy cards in the expansion, of which we have so far seen 5 so far.
If I had to guess there will be one C'thun card for each Class and 7 neutral C'thun cards.
We've already seen the Warrior and Druid C'thun cards plus 3 of the neutral ones. I would guess that they are announcing these cards early because C'thun has been chosen as the face/gimmick of the expansion.

Well that is part of the problem, you'll basically have to use most of the available C'thun buff minions in order to reliably reach the result you want. Which means you'll have to fill your deck with cards that ultimately do very little until turn 10 and beyond, which will probably leave you pretty far behind on tempo with C'thun as your main recovery mechanic and win condition.
All the C'thun decks will boil down to "Stay alive until I can slap down C'thun and nuke their board with my big fat minion"

The thing is that Blizzard also doesn't like combo decks that rely on a specific card combo to kill the opponent from hand.
And then it becomes a problem, because in other card games discard effects are the natural counter to combo-decks. Since there are no effects in hearthstone that target your opponents hand you're almost always guaranteed to get your combo off and that's why combo decks were almost always at the top of the meta in hearthstone.

Blizzard tried to make warlock discards work, but it will never be playable unless the player can choose what to discard. Blizzard should realize that. It's not that I don't think that opponent discard could work. It would just require a lot of thought and careful costing due to the general rarity of card draw and how quickly you run out of cards in hand in the game.
Simply put card discard would have to be quite expensive, probably twice as much as draw. In addition cards like the one I replied to would never work for reasons I mentioned in my post. Hearthstone's simple mechanics are simply too easy to exploit.
If anything, if you want some kind of way to mess with people's combos then you'd want deck mill. Say a card that forced your opponent to mill the top 3 cards of their deck (like a one time Fell Reaver effect on your opponent).
Still even then the fact that Hearthstone decks only have 30 cards would make it hard to cost (what I suggested would literally be a card that mills 1/10th of your deck, assuming you could run 2 copies that would be 1/5th of their deck total). Deck mill is the best option though, it has a chance to mess with combos without being too impactful by nuking your opponent's hand in a game with barely any card draw.

Deck mill might actually be a good idea and I don't think milling 1/5 of their deck is a big deal, similar to how Fel Reaver proccing twice isn't a big deal. Most games don't last until 24 cards are drawn anyway, so in most cases it wouldn't be a big problem. It would be insane in mill decks that try to win by fatigue-killing the opponent, but those decks are meme-tier at best right now, so they could arguably use the buff, maybe 2 cards instead of 3. Make it a semi-expensice minion with absolute garbage stats for the manacost and I think it could work.

The decks are so effective and hearthstone is so simple that the game comes dowm to who gets the better draw. Your opponent may as well not exist as a human player. You're only playing against your own rng.

Thats how druids could be playing. Ramping up, using removal and taunts to stay alive, then dropping big creatures every turn as soon as they can to out muscle and out value the enemy.
Which is why they have stuff like ancient of war, ironbark etc.

No other character has such a reliable high damaging burst finisher, thats the point. A mage can spend 3 cards (Double fireball, 3 mana roaring torch) to deal 18 damage, with setup if they've already used forgotten torch
Druids deal 14 damage with 2 cards no setup and no board, or 22 damage with any combination of combo + innervate to use the extra savage roar, double savage roar + FoN after a single emperor tick, or hell just have any sort of minion on the board to add 4-6 average damage to the combo
Its the "Leave a single minion on druids board, die at 25 hp" part that people dont find fair
