Have any of you guys ever played Psycho Waluigi? Waluigi has a power where he can grab enemies and use them as shields or use them as living weapons. He fights various kings as bosses, and has some sort of colonel or general as a recurring miniboss to fight.
It's been a while since I played it, so I never got to the end, but it was pretty fun, especially in the last stretch where the levels start getting kinda crazy.

Do the newer Oddworld games count as indie? I remember them saying that they wanted to make games without having to depend on a publisher and I think New and Tasty was one of them.

"Follow me" is a reference to Oddworld. The hero of the games, Abe, has to help his fellow slaves escape from a factory. After Abe says "hello" to them, they'll say hello back. Abe can then say "follow me" in order to lead them to safety.

Alright, time for a review before this thread gets archived. Up on the podium today is the stealth action adventure game with open-world and a bit of horror sprinkled on top; Betrayer.
Before I get into the gameplay I want to talk about something you'll likely notice right off the bat in terms of graphics; and that is that everything is either greyscale or red. This is an artistic choice and one that I can appreciate. What I can appreciate even more is the fact that you can change this in the menu by bumping up the saturation to whatever pleases you so thumbs up to the developers there for giving us the option.
But yeah, this game is set around colonial times as you might've guessed from the picture. One of the main enemy types are these Conquistademon fellows and like with most foes in the game you'll want to at least get the first hit on them while the aren't looking because if the see you they have a habit of getting pissed and beserking at you, hence the importance of stealth. One of my favorite parts of the stealth aspect is that you can hide the sound of your footsteps whenever the wind blows and the fact that everything moves with the wind is amazing as well.

The open world aspect times into the story because you've a big open place you need to explore for clues after coming across a fort and discovering that the only remaining inhabitants are the Conquistadouchebags, a maiden in red, statues of ash that were likely once people, and the ghost of said people who you can talk to whilst in a dark world variant of the overworld that you can access by ringing a bell. You'll need to explore the lands searching for pieces of evidence that can help solve the various ghosts' problems. Mainly revolving around past regrets and stuff of that nature, and feel like this is a good way of storytelling as you are rewarded with progression and narrative.To be honest I haven't beaten the game yet but given the setting I've got ten bucks riding on that things went to shit as the result of a Native American curse.Anyway it's a pretty interesting experience and you can download a demo off the Steam page which I find to be one better than Steam refunds. Give it a shot!

I will say that Dingaling definitely inspired me in the form of Joy Mutants. There's something about them that's so much more disturbing than mutants from games like RE. Corrupted are a lot more over the top than the joy mutants were. Milly is more inspired by Blue from pokemon than Buzzo, although she does do some Buzzo like things later on.

Something that some folks on /co/ do ismake generals weekly. Fans of Star Vs the Forces of Evil make their general and friday, and then keep having generals until the end of sunday/beginning of Monday. And I think the My Life as a Teenage Robot fans have a monthly general.

One of the coolest systems in Axiom Verge is the ability to glitch out enemies. Just about every enemy can be glitched out and some of the effects can be pretty surprising. The enemy in pic related can be glitched out so it is not longer corporeal and instead of shooting out little hurty bits, it spits out healing items.

Good evening, instead of a review I've decided to rant about something different; why I like Evan from Hotline Miami 2.
Now I'm not going to beat around the bush, I find Evan to be the most sympathetic character of the whole cast of playable characters. For starters, he's not a brutal murderer and his gameplay reflects this. Unless he's in rage mode, he'll only use blunt weapons and empty any guns he picks up. He even seeks medical assistance for a bouncer he injures, showing he has compassion. Yes he's willing to use a bit of violence if need be but he's able to restrain himself from full-frontal murder. A trait that sets him apart from literally every character in both games. He's also a family man, as seen from his little story arc. He is financially struggling but he's too wrapped up in his work to spend time with his wife and kid. He wants to make a book and goes to extreme measures to uncover the truth, even busting into a building owned by the Russian mafia. And well... Between his self-restraint from killing, compassion, and struggle between work and family I find him to be the most human and relatable player character in the Hotline series and that's why I like Evan.
