I hope a future update adds way more nooks and crannies to explore in New York, with previously closed apartment-buildings opening up, with random loot containers with a chance of high-end stuff and fair share of enemies, but then I guess that's why the Dark Zone exist.
It's a shame really that the only reason you wander around in the world when you are done with everything is just to collect materials from preset locations and every now and then run into a named enemy, while all the other enemies are lvl 25 at best. I want a reason to get out there other than just look for scraps. And it's getting kind of boring to run Lincoln Tunnel Checkpoint all day.

Anon, I am running +146% scavenging, and I get anything from 1 green to 2 gold and a blue out of the boxes. You do understand RNG and false pattern identification, right? Scavenging affects loot items, weapons, mods, gear.
The game has three kinds of boosts:
- item find
- credit gain
- xp gain

You only lose about 20 kills at most from dying while non rogue.
That's easily covered if you play solo or at least get a pick up group.
With 4 man cleaning out a building in a few minutes gives you more than what you lost.

I don't usually farm it. I soloed it all the way to the court yard no problem, but I got absolutely pinned by 4 of those machine gunners. Usually me and my friends run Lexington in less than 25 minutes multiple times a night.
