How does Mitigator/Challenger sound for a Warrior?
It seems to me like Warriors (and pawns in general tbqh) are better suited for clearing out the trash than focusing on bigger enemies.
Sorcerers would be the exception since their good spells are overkill for small enemies.

In theory, it sounds okay. I've heard that mitigator also encourages pawns to use AOE attacks more often, so that's a thing.
Challenger sounds a bit counter intuitive at first, but most ranged enemies tend to stand still when winding up spells. Try it out and see if it works for you.

If there's one thing that I like about the DDDA/DDO combat developers, it's that they never ask themselves "Is this *too* outrageous for a video game?"
Or if they do, the answer is always "No." They always seem to find a happy medium between over-the-top and mundane, if that makes any sense.

He does it a lot more against enemies weak to lightning. Try ogres or, if you can keep them off of him long enough, garms.
He does it a lot with cyclops and baby goreclops too, though I have no idea if he does it with condemned goreclops because I'm always sixty feet in the air.
Additionally, if you're the type of vocation to keep Daimon or Death stunlocked long enough to give him breathing room, he'll usually whip it out for that too. He brontides more often with people who can keep aggro off of him.

I played vanilla assassin too, and I am glad the augments got gutted and a cap was put since that was some truly broken nonsense.
It's just kind of upsetting how braindead/easymode all the yellows are, I would enjoy them much more if their kits weren't so effective against everything with basically no downsides. Meanwhile Reds (except MK) still take significantly longer to kill the stronger enemies at level 200 than an MA can do at 60, unless they abuse gravity. Bow skill knockdown and stagger is fucking ridiculous too.
Though I suppose Sorcs are just as braindead as long as you know about HFB being the best shit since sliced bread.

Everytime you rest you should see a loading bar. That means that your pawn is being uploaded/updated into the rift. Also, if you pawn was hired and released, you will be notified about the hires before this.
If you want people from here to hire your pawn, you need to tell use her name, level and vocation when you last rested.

I want to point that your main pawn will always be with you, resting only uploads its info to the rift.

What happens when I rent other people's pawns? I assume they get a 3/5 rating if they die according to what I read in the threads so far, but what happens if I just log off? Do I have to rate and then rehire them later, or can I drag them along forever?

You can drag them along forever. You only have to rehire if they die in a way that won't let you revive them. Otherwise you can just pick them up when they fall and they'll be back with half HP immediately and this can be done an indefinite number of times.

Every time you rest (while online), it uploads your pawn's current data to the server.
People looking to hire pawns go into riftstones and search for pawns, if they find yours and like them, they'll hire them, and the version you uploaded will accompany them in their game. They won't gain EXP, but all EXP acquired while they're in that person's party comes back to you in the form of RC. They also gain bestiary knowledge, area knowledge and quest knowledge.
If they die, and the renter doesn't reload, or re-hire them and dismiss them properly before resting, they will come back with a 3/3/3 star rating, no comment and no gift, though they will get all the RC and knowledge and equipment if the person gave them any.
If the renter dismisses them properly, they can be given a 1-5 star rating for appearance, helpfulness and combat (largely just for vanity purposes, doesn't affect your rank or anything), the renter can leave a comment from a list of comments provided, and can give you one item gift per hire. They can also take off your pawns' equipment (you won't lose it, this is just on their side) or replace it with something from their game (as long as it's not from BBI), which is how you can get equipment gifts.
When you rest, your pawn will say it's come back from another arisen's world and you'll have a menu where you can view all the people who've hired them since you last rested, and see their specific comments and gifts by pressing a button.

nothing happens when you quit the game, they will still be there with you. Owner of the pawn receives rewards when you return them and then sleep at the Inn.
If a pawn accidentalyl gets killed and sent back to the rift during combat, just rehire them and release with the score/gift/commentary you want to give. Don't sleep at the Inn until you have already released them or the owner will get the "rewards" for dying (3 star with no item or commentary and whatever RC had at that point). If you are at a point you can't really return to a Rift stone like Daimon battle then whatever, they will understand.

Sometimes it's good to release and rehire them in case the person you rented them from leveled them up and gave them better gear. That's a gamble though since they may be allot higher and cost a bunch to rehire. Also if they are 25 levels above you; you'll get less xp and more if they are 25 levels below you

What's the consensus on High Spellscreen? Is it worth taking on my pawn? So far I've been trying it out and it doesn't seem all that amazing once you take into account the cast time and how often the pawn casts it in the first place, especially when also taking a weapon enchant.

I'll summarize the uses of each inclination and you should pick what will suit you the best.
>Scather
This will make your pawn prioritize boss enemies over anything else on the field if there is a boss around. Contrary to popular belief, it is not directly linked to climbing, but seeing as though climbing is a Strider's main source of damage, Scather will probably make them climb since they'll be targeting things that are climbable more often.
>Challenger
This will make your pawn prioritize ranged enemies, like enemy casters or archers. This is generally regarded to be a great inclination for ranged pawns, as it doesn't really work well on melee pawns who have to walk to their targets.
>Mitigator
This will make your pawns prioritize the smaller cannon fodder enemies first, it's better put on pawns that have a lot of area effect attacks so they can kill a lot of things very fast. This would really utilize attacks such as Cutting wind best, but may not be the best use of your Strider's time, since they could also be climbing or Volleying or Skullsplitting the boss, or sniping those damn sorcerers.
>Pioneer
This will make your pawn venture further away from you, and is often claimed to make ranged pawns attack things further away, utilizing their range better. It might be a good Secondary to have.
>Utilitarian
This tends to make pawns prioritize teamwork and special tactics more, though what it actually does is usually unclear. It helps mages cast healing at a reasonable time instead of immediately and makes sorcerers dual-cast more often. I'm not sure what it would for striders- possibly make them use trick arrows more?

As far as I can tell, Utilitarian makes the pawns refer back to the "official" strategy for monsters in question a lot more than a pawn who doesn't have the inclination. So for Chimeras, they'd prioritize killing the Snake then the Goat and then the Lion, and they'll try to grab on to the Chimera to do so if they can do a lot of damage that way. Same for specific weak points and all that. There are also some reports that it makes them more liable to use AoE spells.
Of course, that also has the unfortunate consequence of making them refer to certain enemy strategies in instances that it wouldn't really be helpful; a notable instance of this are Condemned Gorecyclopes, which are classified under the same bestiary category of their much smaller and mundane cousin: the Goreclycopes. As such, they'll try and climb it and all that, but they may hesitate to attack and might end up just jumping off to avoid damage while it's rampaging, or try to ineffectually climb the whole distance up to the CGC's eye only to jump off due to low stamina. Sorcerers and Mages will try to keep their distance and cast ice spells at it, but martial classes seem to go haywire and not really know what to do.
But even so, I'd say that I've gotten a lot of mileage out of primary Utilitarian pawns for anything that isn't a CGC. CGCs aren't a huge problem for me anyway since I'm almost always an Assassin, and can quickly dispatch them before they cause much trouble.

What is the truth behind a 3rd and 4th invisible inclination?
I started my mage out as a Utilitarian/Mitgator and she worked out allot better than my previous game as a nexus/medicant(kek) that I restarted early in due to failed quests.
After a bit she started to change to medicant. Even after I used 2-3 elixirs of each to change her back to her starting inclination I still had trouble with her spamming healing/enchantments and not even attacking. I think it may of been because medicant had the 3rd highest amount of points. Giving her more utilitarian and mitigaor along with 1-2 challenger elixirs seemed to make a huge difference.

Get /ddg/ to hire your pawn a few times. No you don't have to worry about RC anymore! Go full fashion all day every day, and damn the min/maxxers. I always bring along curatives for pawns without max resists anyway.

Well when I set the inclination in the character creator mitigator only beat medicant by 2-3 points so maybe that made it easier to catch up.
I also experimented with various combinations of spell placements in primary and secondary.
Sometimes having the corresponding spell type like healing and enchantment in primary to match utilitarian worked and elemental damage other attacks in secondary to match mitgator worked best(what I'm doing now). Other times having the opposite or mix and matching them worked best.
For now I seem to have it working great.though.

I've been back after doing the Hydra on every other playthrough I've done, and never got the scene. This is the first time I've gone back between the Cyclops and the Hydra, and it's the only time I've got it. I think it's another case of the game making it way too easy to miss important plot stuff - why would they expect players to kill the cyclops, turn in that quest and then walk straight past Mercedes to go home?

It's extremely easy to take out the helmet and not aggro them, you just need a bow.
Ok, in the upper 50's/low 60's, opened the second shortcut in 1.0. Sent the items over to my alt from my main to goldforge my pawns dragons glaze (giving it a go before I try and DF the revenant wail I have in storage, since I've always loved hired rangers with dragons glaze).
I've been running him challenger/mitigator, but I've been thinking of changing it up and giving something a try. Specifically, neutralizing his inclinations, then going Seneschal mode with Utilitarian/Challenger/Mitigator to see how he does. Anyone have experience with this set up of inclinations on a ranger, or will it be unusual territory.

Pawns climb some enemies regardless depending on Vocation, Striders and Rangers probably get the worst of it. I've had my Pawn as a Scather primary, Util primary, Mitigator primary, and she always climbed the same enemies save Condemned Gorecyclops where she did different things.
