Unless you desperately need the accuracy from turmoil/piety, you can just use leeches which ramps up to 8% bonus damage as opposed to straight 8% from piety, and it drains less prayer. If you don't care about using an occasional prayer potion as opposed to demonhorn necklace, you can use Zealots and get 18% instead and still have the healing of SS.
Excalibur is almost guaranteed to be superior to the healing ultimates in any given situation, and Regen slows you down more than any lack of prayer would, given the fact that you have to stop attacking, wait for combat to end, then heal slightly, then resume combat with no adrenaline.

Nihils because 6 hour runs don't have room for steel titans, if you aren't autistic and just do a few hours then use titans. So, I have a Nox bow but I've just been doing crystal bows until today for Invention (only 54).
Should I augment my Nox, level it to 12, and just siphon it?
Should I wait for a higher Invention level to spam gizmos for good perks?

It depends on what you want to do, if you want to grind out invention fast then disassemble is best unless doing Airuts with scythe. Personally I just use t90s and do slayer to train it or with the new skilling perks, fishing it.
It's better to do it at higher levels because less chance of bad perks, but you can get some decent perks at your level even if they're like rank 1, better than nothing.
