It seems like it might just be smarter to stack Stamina + Firearms and use abilities that offer debuffs rather than damage, since debuffs are guaranteed.

I think people datamined healing items and exp boosts, but I'm not sure they were implemented it. I stopped playing before all of this happened.
I think the game is great, although much better in a party with a few friends.
The more I play the deeper the gameplay becomes.
Had some absolutely class stand offs in the DZ which I feel has added some off the most tense gameplay from any game in a while.
I'm a little concerned about the longevity of this as I'm level 22 after a few days playing.
Though the environment is beautiful, and exploration fun I'm not sure there's enough of this and missions to last an extended period of time.

Handcannons are fine. It's just mandatory to have rifled barrel on them. I do think handcannons need more base range though and hawkmoon and ace of spades need buffs. Also Thorn needs to have send it replaced with +range/-stability or hammer forged

Well your DPS is heavily based on your weapon. As for health if you have +HP on any gear / +Skill power it adds to that.
I think have gear slots / higher stats is always better than any +Skill Power, +HP, +Damage or something. Because they help you get the passives for the weapon talents.

Light machine guns are fucking amazing dps, but everyone who is uses them usually uses them just to suppress since they have low damage
Sniper Rifles are okay I guess, they are used at shotguns at close range and help pick off snipers in PvE/PvP.

A friend of mine played with the Rogue system.
18 seconds is the 'oops shit sorry' first stage that people usually get and some assholes take advantage of.
But same friend got to full tier Manhunt, and when he died he lost 4 DZ ranks, 60k Credits and 8 DZ Keys after dying.
You could argue 'hurr dont go rogue' but they clearly wanted to make that system work in some manner...but going Rogue has NO upsides. Because you'd get 1300 DZ Credits for surviving a Manhunt, whereas you could just kill 2-3 Vets or Elites at 30 and get that much quicker.

There's still a few 'cant do shit' spots if a person gets up there with a buddy to help. One of the checkpoints has a ladder and a DZ chest and there's no other way up there. Good rogue spot for camping.

The higher tier a manhunt, the more vague the area given should be, or the minimap stops working or some shit. You have to actively hunt, not just run along until you see their name through a wall.

My primary DPS, which is the same AK that you have, is 6k higher than yours. We both have a high-end magazine attachment. The sniper rifle doesn't play any role in the displayed stats, your AK just has worse DPS than mine. You have ~250 armour on me, despite me only having 2 golds. You have 8k HP less, 4k Skill Power less, again, despite all those golds. You come out with weaker stats except for armour.
What is confusing me is that you seem to be worse, despie having "better" gear. Is your composition messed up, or is it that your gear isn't coordinated?

I got a stacked +137% scavening, +5% armor shred, +17% damage to elites, +9% protection from elites, and a collective +14% dmg to both Seeker Mine and Sticky Bomb, +7.5% radius to each, too. The two gold equips give me +25% magic iitem find and +25% sidearm headshot damage.
In essence, I feel like my shit is doing quite well, and I would like to understand what went wrong with goldfriend's gear, so to prevent that from happening to me aswell. It seems quite ... unfortunate.

I think a good way to fix it is that you don't lose EVERY item on death to a Rogue, unless you yourself are also Rogue. Maybe a random selection of X items, half of what you have.

>transfer all items over to him
>go rogue 100% of the time in DZ with no penalty
you don't share DZ funds and rank with other characters, so once you get to 50 with your main, rarely use that character again in the DZ except check vendors for restock (you will have 300-400k DZ funds at rank 50, one item cost 10k at most so you'll never run out). pvp with your alt, go rogue as much as you want

since yesterday server maintanance downtime my filter level is bugged.
i have all the upgrades and it shows filter lvl 4 in the character screen. i have been in cont. areas lvl 4 before with no problem but since yesterday DT it gives me a warning when entering and says im filter lvl 3 (see pic).

Hey guys quick question. So I'm level 24, me and one friend have been loving the dark zone and have been really active in it since level 12. I noticed that everyone kinda sucks at shooting/using cover/using a abilities, basically everyone kinda fucking sucks at the game. The group of two me and my buddy have take out groups of 4-6 more often than they kill us and if there's any groups 3 or lower we just obliterate them. We have been kinda "min maxing" our gear and stats though so we can shred mobs and players easily. I'm on the ps4.

1. because it's a huge risk to group with randoms from matchmaking. if he misfire and hit someone else, you go rogue as well for 16 seconds. you die, you lose hours of grinding.
2. and you need to go into map and hit matchmake, and people are used to having a large text on your screen saying "MATCHMAKE WITH OTHER AGENTS!", so it's kinda hidden away. there should be a similiar "group up with others!" in front of the DZ entrance.

PvP is utterly pointless since the risk far outweighs the reward and virtually everyone has figured out that the DZ is basically a PvE farming zone and working together is more efficient.
The DZ is an interesting idea executed in the most carebear way possible. People who decide to kill others really stand to gain nothing from doing so but stand to lose (at times) gigantic amounts of xp and DZ points (I once lost just under 20k points for example)
You're supposed to feel worried whenever you see another group of players in the DZ, but you don't because you know and they know that it's within everyone's best interests to ignore or help one another.

Avoid players like the plague. Find a skill setup that does two things:
1. Keeps you alive when you mis-position. Any type of instant healing or armor/Dr is fine for this.
2. Changes the pace of the fight. Things that make you harder to kill, things that make it easier to kill enemies.

No, it's a lot more focused on quality over quantity unlike most MMORPGs. It's similar to Destiny but with more content from what I can tell. I've enjoyed replaying the missions on harder difficulties, almost have 80 hours in the game now. Took me about 30-40 to beat the campaign.

Alright so these are my current stats and I need some help with them
Right now I'm playing what I think everyone should be in Challenge mode where you take First Add with Revive, Recovery Link and then your group all take a different next perk (Usually Health Station, Scan, Smart Cover and Sticky Bomb with Flashbang).
I focus more of damage, cover to cover fights (Have two amazing gear talents for this) and try to revive everyone I can with my abilities (I usually take health station since one of my gear talents is I have decreased healing ability cooldowns). The perks I'm using are Triage (More heals), Evasion Action (I think this is amazing on healers so you can get to someone who is down without dying easier), Steady Hands (Since I'm switching cover so much) and Stopping Power (Was thinking of using Battle Buddy instead, Battle Buddy honestly seems crazy)
I think my stats reflect this 'combat medic' style I play, but earlier someone was shitting on my stats so I thought I'd post and get an opinion from more than one person.
Also want your guys opinion. If I am playing the set up which gun should I buy first? All of them interest me / are good I think.

I feel like the December beta had a perfect balance of NPCs in terms of location and damage. Now they're literally everywhere, they also upped the damage on them dramatically and now they just spawn out of thin air once you start an extraction and it's incredibly annoying to deal with. It reminds me a lot of GTAO where the NPC police ruined the fun of interacting with other players. This is the same exact thing. The constant feeling of "Aww, I was having fun doing x with this player and an NPC/group of NPC's came along and completely ruined it by being obnoxious." that really gets to me. I also feel like you shouldn't lose DZ keys for dying to NPC's either.

I did general assembly. I got lucky and got a 70k dps ak74 tier assault rifle. Then I got even luckier and got an extended mag which lets it hold up to 54 bullets, added all dps mods and stacked firearms.

Take out like 8-10 gold with named just to dump your shit and then another 10 purple show up once the flare is shot and sometimes I gold 4+ man patrol can show up. Yes, even from the start in the single-player world it is this way. You can see your friends on the map but they don't appear in your world unless you're in a party. When you get to a story mission, you can enter a seamless queue to get more people in your party. So outside of the dark zone the server is limited to your party size. But for whatever reason, it's always online and whatever.
The dark zone is different, 24 players are in the same instance and can see/engage one another.
I need two more Security missions so I can finish off the Security Wing Supplies, but there's none left on the map.

The key to being solo is corner/ledge abuse. You can sit behind walls and shoot enemies without them being aware of you at all. They can't shoot back because you are literally behind the object, firing through it. The key to this is approaching areas without engaging the cover system, a large part of the AI works through a decency with you being in cover in the first place. Half of the shit I kill just stands there taking headshots over and over without responding at all.

It seems they are triggered when one is -passing by- an area so just roam past your side missions locations again until you find it. It should pop up once you are in the general area.

Yes, if you break line of sight and get to a new cover they go full retard mode. Assuming you don't have chargers after you it's pretty fucking easy to break the AI this way.
Another way to break the AI is to just run into the room and avoid engaging until you've got cover from a flank. These fucking retards will allow you to pick their nose almost if you don't shoot at them first. The game just constantly baits you into engaging and that is what activates the AI

This game as never, ever meant or built to be a PvP game in anyway. The only reason they even call the DZ PvP at all is marketing.
The Divsion is a pure co-op game game to it very core. The bulk of the map is PvE with a story line. The DZ is just larger scale PvE in a war zone. Where you stumble over other agents fighting to take back NY with you.

Its a fucking horribly built system that kills the longevity of the game in general. Dedicated PvP keeps lots of games alive. Hell the entire fucking fun part of the DZ was bumping into agents who you weren't quite sure wanted to kill you. Now you know 99% of them will ignore or help you since the punishment for player killing is so staggering.
If you're going to water it down to a point when 99% of players actively avoid a game mechanic then you're just better off removing that mechanic.
