Playing a BB will get you the hang on CA gameplay, and playing DD the hang on CL gameplay. Both are not really the same but it will you the idea.
I haven't played WoWs but people say over there there's no difference between heavy and light cruisers, so what I said earlier might help you with that too.

Seconding that recommendation. first time you get misc gold tiers you get 2x the amount. So if you get the $13.6 pack, it provides $27.2, spend $10.8 (21.6) on the growth plan and it becomes an eventual 65 (55 due to initial 10.8 cost.) that is doled out as you reach misc tiers in the form of gold, and free xp.
It is meant as a 'starter pack' sort of thing so you have time to decide if you enjoy the game or not before throwing dollars at the screen. (Just do not RESEARCH a Tier 5 or you lose the chance at it. There is a pop-uo 'if you do this, you cannot get growth plan' or somethin like that.)
Not trying to shill, just numerous people in fleet have had 'buyers remorse' over NOT getting it.

Forgot to post it last night. This are the repair costs of Yamato after a match where I got sunk, so my guess it is the max possible cost outside TDM. As said before, ammo supplies varies on the ammount of shells used in battle.
I know, it was a shit game with MM memeing us over (no DD in our team) but it's the only defeat I have on Yamato so far.

I had the weirdest bug I've ever encountered while playing in my Wasp:
- Start of the game, sent a single scout, he discovered and spotted fine
- Followed by TB squad plus 1 scout
- while they were in the air I sent a fighter squad.
- Here gets weird, my fighters encountered the Hiryu's fighters, mine did NO damage, there wasn't even the "machinegun" sound
- after that I noticed both my fighters and TBs (the first ones) weren't spotting the enemy CV (he was smoked and I KNEW I had my planes over his head since they were there before he smoked).
- after that the first TB squad died, the second one DID spot the nemy BB.
- the first fighter squad didn't
Basically, I couldn't spot, and my fighters where only usefull as cannon fodder/distraction since they didn't spot nor did damage. We won, but this bug annoyed the fuck out of me.
Has any other CVck encountered this bug? Sadly I didn't have the replays activated. All4freedom was with me in that match and can advocate that shit was happening in his screen too.

There is a bug in WoWs where CV planes become unable to follow any commands as you can give none. There is literally a stop/cancel sign for your mouse cursor and the only way to fix it is to restart your game mid match.

We've found this shit once or twice. Its a bug I belive its caused by planes flying over mountains which are too high. I think the TBs can drop their torps anyway but they need twice the time to dive.
As you've stated, the planes affected by this bug cant spot smoked targets and have barely any spotting range (if any).

To be honest this is partly what killed NF2. There was no point to play solo because you'd get matched against unbeatable super platoons, and the more you progressed the worst it was getting. At tier 9 it was practically impossible to play at NA evening hours because as you'd get always matched against platoons and never stood a shred of a chance of winning, so you'd lose hours on end until plats got bored and went to sleep. It made high tier solo players like me quit in droves. I tried to reason with people on the forums to stop platooning at least for the time being because it was killing the playerbase, and all I got was arrogant scoffing and platters telling me to get friends of my own.All my friends had quit over a month prior because they saw it was beyond saving.

Keep stomping in a group, that's fine, I'm just saying that it sucks the fun out of the game for everyone on the opposing side, and that has an effect on playerbase in the long run - especially on higher tiers. Nobody besides other high tier soloers listened to me in NF2, and now the game is completely dead. In NF2 it was at least excusable in the sense that the devs never bothered introducing the fleet battles, which drove high tier fleets to stomp pubs in frustration.

Dunno how it's in NF2 but in SO we all know a fact: If you queue Tier X you can get matched in a Tier X + 1. If you queue solo T8 and see 2+ T9s in queue you should know that you'll get them in your match. Squads really don't matter much at that tier, and A2 was complaining about that (Tier 9s versus T8s).
To add more, if the MM HAS to match a T9 squad versus T8s, it will outnumber them greatly. Even if we are in a squad you can clearly see that being or not in a squad will not help you in a 3v5 situation (it happens).

E.g. 2T9s + T8 vs 1 T9 + 3T8s
One thing I think the game should do is basically stack the teams against groups, instead of just looking at tiers. Especially if they have high WRs/BP/whatever metric. Unfortunately there probably isn't enough players at high tier to effectively do this.I never want to carry Westley to a win again. The way he doesn't help the team at all makes me so mad.
