>From my testing, the rank mostly changes how much in-stage enemies shoot: on a high rank, enemies shoot tons of bullets like stage 5; on low rank, they shoot few bullets, like stage 1. Rank does not seem to affect bosses nor mid-bosses at all.

YGW has a habit of reusing the same things and elements in his games I've noticed. Obsessive Rank Management, with a drive of stock/bomb gain and loss that ends up this weird game of abusing the fact that his games will forever keep giving 1Up's at score hallmarks, so you willingly die just before one to ensure to get the greatest rank drop before regaining your safety net.

Because of the bullet count and small hitbox danmaku requires a type of refined focus and dodging style that isn't the same in typical horis. For what it's worth i hate cave horis but love metal black,border down, gradius and neither of these play fuck all like progear despite the retards here failing to see past hori orientation. Still fucking derping, comparing progear to gradius is like comparing raiden to ketsui sure they all have bullets but the way you play and look at the game is completely different why can't you grasp this? A large hitbox can't be as versatile and the game design will ave less bullets to accommodate this therefore visually you have less in the way of spam to confuse your eyes and more in the way of memorizing a plan. Danmakus allow a certain amount of luck to be achieved due to the nature of the hitbox. Honestly have you even play a fucking shmup from each camp? Of course it has to do with it. fucktard. Gradius doesn't just mind numbingly throw bullet pattenrs at you, it actually also has level design where you have to dodge environmental hazards and enemies.

And the bullet patterns in V are not basic at all. In the stage with the meteroids for example the whole screen is just full of metroids and bullets flying in completely arbitrary and random ways, constantly bouncing off of each other. This is much more complex to dodge than than your shitty aimed Cave bullets or spiral patterns, which only become hard when they fly with unfair speed at you.

Yes it matters as in clasical shmups its far easier to see the threatening bullets and calulate your hitbox due to it being much more visual and clear where as danmaku aims to give you sensory overload and in that situation which ikeda was specifically talking about it can be a problem seeing the horizontal bullets in relationship to the ship when the hitbox is 2 pixels and there's a screen of bullets. People who hate progear have no issue with other horis at all why is that? do you understand yet? You're so dumb you can't even see when you imply something and you make assumptions like a mother fucker also show your scores because now i believe you're a shit player with no experience in the genre and that'd explain your inability to understand. That's complete bullshit. Bullets in Cave games are mostly visible as fuck, since they have very distinct colors and very big textures. The only bullets in Cave games which are threatening are those which fly with complete bullshit speed at the player, which has nothing to do with bad visibility but rather with bad game balancing.
