I fixed this since the heal and resisted needed to be switched
>>130377182
>two of the same trinket
nice
>>130371493
the PD mod has the description of the hellion mod
So will she just eat normally?
So any tips for transitioning to level 3+ dungeons?
dots do twice the amount so I'm finding blight/bleed clears are needed. Did you find you needed to change your strategy at all?
>>130377517
>stress eater
>stress faster
wut
Probably. Get that stress eater removed, stress faster is GOAT
>>130377547
Upgrading armor and skills was enough. And bringing bandages to the cove now.
>>130377547
I found that confidence was a slow and insidious killer, the knowledge left me reeling and dizzy, about to break.
>>130377547
I got lucky enough on boss drops that I can have my Vestal power heal through the bleed on the cove. Also helps Immensely to upgrade gear
The fanfiction masterlist is pretty mediocre, and the only smut I read was that shitty one about PD. Why are we stuck with the 'alright' drawfags and writefags?
>send in my twink a-team squad to dungeon for a quick item in a noob dungeon
>they get their shit kicked in
>lose money from paying for their relief
>scrap together a bunch of losers fresh off the wagon
>they crush the dungeon without a scratch
funny how that works
>my crusader is a light sensitive warrior of light
>+10% dmg if torch 75+
>-10% dmg if torch 75+
Lol RNG
>>130377547
Plague Doctor goes from good to near-staple in champ dungeons for several reasons: Double blind on backrow, blight is super useful against all the PROT stacks that enemies get, battlefield medicine is essentially a double heal for upwards of 12 health if both she and a companion are stacked with DOTs, and she can remove diseases at camp, saving a shitload of money that it would have cost for your high level heroes at the Jewitarium. Bring her in 90% of your champ dungeons if you can.
Man At Arms also really starts to shine at higher levels because of how much more important his stat buffs become. Everything has shitloads of dodge at high levels so Command gets stellar value, rampart is the definition of flexible (helps activate positional shenanigans both in your party and offsetting the enemy, stun on top of that), and guard is still very good (although not as effective because it doesn't do anything meaningful against AOEs. He should also be a serious consideration for most parties.
The reason I state two classes as being generally good in most cases is because the REAL lesson you need to learn about Champ dungeons is that you can't fuck around without planning your team, provisions, and a general plan of action. You have to go for synergies and eek out every bit of value that you can because fucking up will very easily ruin a run. So choose your party very meticulously, and remember that those two classes are generally a good place to start.
What's your A-team, /dadg/? And why?
> crit for bajillion damage to death's door that procs bleed and kills before you can do anything about it
always my plague doctors, too
>>130378339
Yeah I meant to ask about buffs. I just realized that the man at arms buffs were for the entire crew. Is the jester's battle dance good? I'm just sure if it is better to buff your team first or try to focus down the mobs.
>>130378527
Vest - PD - BH -Crusader
THE WARDENS ASSEMBLE!
Is this ltierally the best possible team comp for the prophet?
Hellion spams swan strike on the prophet, hound master spams guards on whoever the prophet targets so that the rocks never do any damage and grave robber spams daggers.
If anyone gets low the vestal can just outheal his DPS.
I actually managed to finish this mission with a party total of 8 stress.
>>130378527
I just bring whatever makes the current dungeon or boss easier
>>130378716
>starting team
>>130378527
Four Crusaders
Make sure one can heal and the other 3 have Holy Lance
>>130378778
Hey, if it works
Plus I have yet to get a Hellion or a Lepper yet and at week 34
THE INQUISITION is another favourite of mine
>>130378527
This crew.
>bring stressfags to the front
>turn them into corpses
>4th rank skeleton does a weak attack to move forward, putting the shield skeleton into the 4th rank
>then the shield skelly uses a weak attack to move forward, putting the first skeleton back into the 4th rank
>they do this over and over again while my team hacks away at them and tops off on heals.
>>130378717
occultist makes the rocks tickle so you can just focus on damage
>>130378717
Pretty much yeah, Arbalest/Vestal/MaA/Hellion also good.
Why doesn't surprising enemies cause them to reshuffle?
>>130378790
Four crusaders
all holy lance
2 have inspiring guy and that healing skill, plus stun, other 2 have smite, zealous accusations and bulwark of faith
>>130378717
you're pretty fucked if he targets two people.
>>130378527
Graverobber - Occultist - M@A - Helion
Lots of damage, lots of reach, access to many stuns and debuffs, decent heals and buffs. Also M@A and Helion have really good camp buffs.
> it's a "back-row enemies dodge almost fucking everything" episode
>>130378650
Stun > Buff > Apply DOTS > Heal > Unload > Repeat
Generally a good way to go about most encounters. Jester's battle dance is good at higher ranks but I wouldn't take him in the ruins or the cove because he needs to also be able to get value out of his Bleeds or he isn't going to be doing enough otherwise, and nothing bleeds in the cove or ruins.
To your last point you won't get those rounds where your team gets a surprise on the enemy (or just outspeeds them) and proceeds to 1 to 1 kill all of them. You gotta focus down the stressors and big damage mid to back liners but even then it will take a couple of turns to do so, so buffs become more appealing.
lol
>>130379224
That's what the Vestal is for.
Vestal will heal a minimum of 10 damage single target or a minimum of 16 damage party wide.
Add to that the fact that hellion and houndmaster have self heals and the only one who's ever at risk is grave robber which isn't a problem because of houndmaster's guard.
>>130379270
>it's a virtued last survivor abomination carrying 20,000+ gold dies to the last enemy of the entire dungeon when it has 1 hp episodeTHIS FUCKING HAPPENED. It still hurts.
Do bosses get some kind of speed bonus or something? Fucking prophet has a speed of 1 vs my guys speeds of at least 9 and he went first every damn time
>>130379517
>It's a "I don't know when to cut losses and retreat" episode
>>130379568
It's a mechanic. He always calls for falling rocks at the start of the round.
>>130379568
Alot of bosses get two turns and the first one has special rules I think. Hag will pot someone asap, prophet will call his shot asap, wilbur will shitpost asap, Cannon will do whatever it has to do asap.
>>130379517
You do know there's an abandon quest/retreat from combat button at the top left, right?
>>130379517
>filename
>>130379730I know it was my fault, but it was the LAST enemy in the last fight of the dungeon. He could have killed it on the last hit, as well.
>>130379568
They do like 2 actions per turn i think.
Is Vestal/PD/BH/MaA good against the Crew (Champion)?
>>130380206
pull the crew with the bh for auto win
give him some move+ trinkets if you are going for it since the base chance to do it is like 9%
>>130380583
Can an Occultist do the same?
I think I have move+ for occultist
>>130380583
they still haven't patched that yet?
>>130380206
Just don't bring those Ancestral or Sun Trinkets that give extra Stress Damage. Bring Leper or Highwayman with Point Blank Shot, they can oneshot the Anchor Guy easily that way the Crew can't recover much health from the stress he gets.
I have 2 of every class except arbalest, jester, and abomination which I have 1 of.
Is this a good roster?
>>130380920
yes
>>130380952
haven't seen any mention in the notes
good classes for siren?
>>130378527
Hound Master, vestal, bounty hunter, man at arms.
>Hound master seems to go first a lot so he can either drop the bleeds on everyone or mark someone for a pretty much guaranteed one-shot on something when BH snorts it.
>vestal because >2017-1 and she's the only female healer. She has both heals and a stun. I have no idea what to put on the 4th slot. She heals someone every turn and if everyone is full, she stuns someone. When is anything else better?
>BH because holy marked crits batman and he's amazing at getting important targets into melee range with come hither and flashbang
>man at men because he's cool as fuck. Oh and also buffs. Get bellow and command. Never miss. Riposte versus aoe mobs is fun too.
Group seems to work well, they killed shambler and collector in one run after finishing a medium dungeon. They have no aoe outside of dog dash which does all its damage as a bleed anyway, but the single target damage is god tier.
>>130381308
If I had to fight Siren right now I would bring a hellion, a bounty hunter, a vestal, and a houndmaster.
That said, I'm pretty sure I would bring that particular party to pretty much every boss fight ever.
>>130381160
I personally would have taken a second jester over a second leper but otherwise yeah that's a good well rounded roster
By the endgame, however, you may find yourself ditching some for more MAAs or occultists
Is 36 food 24, torches, 4 shovels, and a 6 stack of all the utility items enough for the darkest dungeon?
>>130382000
>shovels
>>130381554
>taking the BH to Prophet or Hag
Never again.
How to make mad dosh? I keep coming back to the hamlet with only enough money to treat stress and I really need to upgrade my heroes
Hey, do characters with rabies ALWAYs get a disease after the end runs?
>>130382097
I think for the prophet and Hag I brought a grave robber for the third row and moved the houndmaster to the second row.
>>130382118
Learn the curios, don't treat anyone below 50 stress, try torchless runs.
>>130382118
Suicide runs. I haven't done one yet but that seems to be the preferred method.
I just run long runs, take a bunch of curio-usable items and stack the riches with little torch. I save one of the campfires till I've dealt with all fight rooms, rest up and de-stress. Jester is also good for mitigating the stress of low-light runs
>>130382000
just take bandages for mission 1 and antivenom for 2 and 3
there are no obstacles or curios in the DD
there is a completely optional chest with some gold an a ancestor trinket in the second mission i believe but that is all
>>130382118
Just use the curio guide, try to do long dungeons, they are much easier since you can reset your stress any time by camping.
>>130382118
One of the biggest pitfalls people fall into with DD is the stress metagame
At first they don't pay attention to it whatsoever and have a town fulled of afflicted people or they dismiss strong heroes because they don't want to destress them
Then they overvalue stress removal and dump all their heirlooms into the tavern/abbey and stress heal everyone when they finish a mission regardless of state
The truth of the matter is somewhere in between: Put your afflicted and 90 stress heroes in the abbey if you plan on using them the following week, but don't worry about lower levels of stress on heroes you're not taking out. And of course, remember the order: Wagon >> Blacksmith > Guild > Sanitarium > Abbey >> Nomad >>> Tavern > Survivalist
Does anyone have the picture of the meat vision shopkeepers?
well duh
Is there a god in the world of Darkest Dungeon? Where do the heals and positive magic come from for the Vestial, Crusader and Abomination (for his one heal move)? Is it merely a trick of the light?
This question coming, of course, with knowledge of the endgame and its implications.
>>130377981
Alright nigger challenge accepted.
Give me a plot idea and I'll fucking give you your fanfiction.
>respite is pronounced "res pit"
When the narrator said it I was like wtf, but thats how it is pronounced according to the dictionary. I'm used to hearing space marines shout NO MERCY NO REESPIGHT
Anyone have the meat vision pictures?
>>130382973Now you see things as they truly are.
>>130383223yes? although not sure if its the source of the healing magic
>>130383279
pd bangs crusader
>>130383279
>hellion injured, cared for by PD, lewds progress for "strange new feelings"
>afflicted Hellion goes to town on [insert Male Character]
>pigmen corner sole survivor Vest
>Sanitarium using "unorthodox treatment" to remove deviant tastes
>highwayman and BHtrapped alone, must share warmth of dwindling fire, lewds happen
>>130382118
don't treat stress unless they're afflicted or if they're above 75
just leave them alone for a couple weeks when they reach 50 or so
upgrade your stagecoach and rotate your heroes regularly even if their stress levels aren't high
So tell me people
If one runs into cash problems
Why wouldnt you just hire bunch of level 0's and do short runs without buying anything?
I mean, the enemies are easy to kill, the loot gets better without light were you to perish, you can always replace the dead ones with new ones.
What is stopping you from doing it?
>>130384757
also, if the level 0's get too stressed, you can always send them away
there doesnt seem to be ANY penalty to this
>>130384757
>>130385128
It's what you're expected to do. Some people have souls.
Alternatively, NG+ setting makes it that if you lose too many heroes you fail.
>>130384757
I've stopped doing that now that I have a bunch of Level 6 that can't go to the DD anymore. Since I have everything upgraded, I just do long champ runs with these guys, and be done with it.
Am I memeing the sunken crew correctly? Is 50% overkill, can I drop 20% for Junia's Head?
>Fighting the prophet with everyone on deaths door
I was on the edge of my fucking seat. My favorite Hellion was on the team and dodge like 3 death blows. RIP my poor Vestal. You died too young and when we needed you most.
Fuck you vomit. You crit all day and stress for 20
>>130384757
>More blood soaks the soil, feeding the evil therein.in NG+ you have a time limit and cant go above 13 deaths
>>130385470
Forgot to say that I prefer Warrens or Cove, they feel like the easiest to do.
Whoever suggested me leper-crusader-vestal-jester combo in a previous thread, goddammit man i love finishing quests with less than 10 stress, its just so awesome.
Thank you.
Which dungeon gives the most deeds? Hurting for a cart upgrade right now.
Level 1 PD, Level 2 PD, and two seeker Crusaders.
The path ahead was dark and scary, the heroes without enough torches. But the adventurer Plague Doctor's cunning Incision skill and unrelenting zealous accusations made it to the first campfire. The combination of heals and double Zealous Speeches made everyone happy again.
So I continued, and the Crusaders became afflicted, but not incapable of finishing the task at hand. A great dungeon experience all around, and only one disease!

>>130385621
who gives a shit about ng+
you're not supposed to play a game more than once through :^)
maybe revisit the game after 10 or so years but replaying the same game over and over again is really monotonous and stupid
HEAR THAT, NIPPON RPG'S?
What items should i bring for the first floor of Darkest?

bandages and food mainly
you wont need keys or shovels
>>130379443
You need to take him on a quest in the Warrens.
>>130371247
I want Eastern Heroes Pack.
Armoured Companions, Streloks, Hussars, Cossacks and Szlachta plus some German and Scott mercenaries with Arqebuse, Halabard, Sword and Board etc.
>>130377638
I want to fuck that unicorn
BTW Anyone knows how to make Heroes cost gold on recruitment?
>>130383876
Taking the first one now. Working on it.
Might take the second one for snu-snu times on Dismas.
>>130387423
she's pretty pretty
Is it possible to share saves?
>>130387816
Why wouldn't it be ?
Give me ONE reason to ever use BH over Crusader.
>>130385514
I hate that fight because the stupid fucking occultist with his shit heal is the only guy that can do -dmg% debuff on 4th rank
this game needs more variety
>>130386634
That really needs a follow-up where it's hooked.
>>130388420
Give me ONE reason to ever use Vestal over Hound Master.
>>130388441
I hope Le Happy Merchant has a good heal skill. We need more of those.
>>130388420
Truffle shuffle.

Cuckmaster is only good for camping skill
>>130388732
Healing > Damage
>>130388420
They are two completely different classes that fill very different roles
Do not use a BH to supplement a Crusader and do not use a Crusader to supplement a BH
>>130387620
Nice! As that anon, I'm actually writing up the Sanitarium one now. Not sure which class to use. Suggestions?
>>130388441
It's kinda rare you'll need -dmg% on 3th and 4th rank, it's just that the vestal one has a shitty positional requirement so no one uses it
>inb4 leper
>mfw doing Weald on veteran and champion
fuck this place
fuck those giants critting confusion spores for massive stress(oh my god 2 damage) and those fucking treebranch smackdowns
fuck those 90 year old hags that dodge as well as a kenyan on meth
fuck those god damn dogs holy shit stop stacking bleed god damn it
fuck those unending blockades I brought five fucking shovels and I had to claw my way through one this is a fucking medium dungeon jesus christ
it speaks fucking volumes about the encounters you have in the Weald when I meet the Collector there and just go "please, not today, I'm having a bad day" and use his caged grinning shitface as a way to heal my party back to 0 stress and max health
>>130389338
>They are two completely different classes that fill very different roles
how?
>>130388135
then why don't I see people sharing saves?
>>130388420
crusader is a front row character designed towards more defensive playstyles.
BH is a mid range character designed towards offensive playstyles.
>>130389595

>>130390336
Cove has the Thralls, which are really easy, but can screw you over if you are unlucky. They also have the Piranhas, which can be tricky, but aren't so bad if you know how to handle them. They finally have the giant crabs, which are harmless if you can cure bleed. OP if you can't.
The Warrens have nothing but easy enemies, but toss disease at you which is annoying to heal.
The Weald has those fucking giants who can crit a warrior from full to 0; and everyone seems to love applying blight or disease. It's like the Warrens but even more annoying.
The ruins is piss easy. The only thing I can say about it that I don't like is the Bone General AOE stunning your entire party.
>>130389595
I know what you mean. It seems like a lot of people really dislike the Cove, but I don't mind it that much. It's the Weald I fucking hate and avoiding having to go there if I can.
Ruins are kinda comfy to go through right now
Warrens I like for butchering piggies
Cove still feels mysterious and somewhat threatening since I haven't played it as much as the others
Weald though is just hell
>>130390887
honestly I'd rate it equal to the Ruins, great but not as cool as the Cove.
>Hellion goes irrational
>if the beasts go unclothed so shall I!
PLS
Is it ever worth to mark targets? Even if you one hit kill a marked you would have 2 hit killed it anyways. This is excluding bosses ofc.
>>130391473
>Even if you one hit kill a marked you would have 2 hit killed it anyways.
definitely not true for the end game.

>>130391473
Double-size enemies, tanky enemies (like bone defenders), and bosses are all useful mark targets. Witches and bone nobles are all kind of weak mark targets that, yeah, you might as well just hack at in case you get a crit and kill it in 1.
>>130392403
raise the size of your roster, fire a veteran or wait for one of them to die.
>>130391954

>>130392597
>>130392403
>ancestor's portrait
>babysit them on short/medium veteran runs
They level up pretty fast anyway : I brought a level 0 PD to a veteran prophet because all my guys outleveled him and she got to level 2 with that mission alone before I dismissed her ass, and she didn't even have a trinket on.
Anyone still have that curio chart with colour coded areas??
>>130392837
The thing is I have a Leper, PD, and Hellion.
The Hellion can maybe sit in 3rd row and spam if it bleeds.
The PD can sit there as well and spam grenades/heals.
The Leper has to go to the front line to do anything.
>>130392968
>>130393230
Thanks anon, you're a life saver.
This game is kind of repetitive.
Does it get better?
>>130379995
Remind yourself...
>>130393230
It annoys me that this doesn't use the Siren to represent the Cove since every other area has the first boss shown.
>>130391705
Taking big damage is inevitable.
Focus them down one at a time. If your backrow is softer, kill the backrow fishmen first and vice versa.
Stuns, especially AoE ones, can buy you some time.
>>130393064
Leper's pretty resilient anyway, just spam solemnity and withstand if you're afraid he'll die.
Main problem is that they might get stressed out pretty fucking fast : didn't test extensively but I'm pretty sure that PD went from 25 stress to 90 in a single prophet attack.
Be sure your other guys are well geared so they can carry your team easily.
>>130393378
no, either you enjoy running dungeons or you don't
from lvl 3 missions and on you will face 1 large enemy like ghouls and the giants in the weald in each zone and some attacks will now add debuffs or marks but most things stay the same
I have never done a champion mission before.
If I complete this mission though I can finally unlock the last tier-2 boss and get all four participants of the quest up to resolve 6.
Is it worth the risk?
Is the which zone is the least dangerous for champions?
Should I equip them all with defensive trinkets?
>>130393850
>3/3 upgrades
Abort and grind some more mate
>>130394027
Is 4/4 good enough? Grinding deeds will take me an eternity.
I can however sell a bunch of trinkets and upgrade cost reduction to afford 4-4.
>>130378717
So far, the best I used was Arbalest>Occultist>Houndmaster>Hellion
Arbalest and Houndmaster can mark and do some solid damage along with the Hellion while the Occultist keeps hitting him with Weakening Curse.
It also helps that the Arbalest can bandage if anyone REALLY needs it and the Houndmaster and Hellion can self heal. All I really had to worry about was stress damage.
>>130394232
Ye it's doable, upgrade skills too.
Ruins is the easiest, the warrens is okay-ish if you can manage those meat cleaver pigs with their bleeds and heal reduction, cove is manageable if you can deal with bleeds and have decent rng, weald can fuck you up really really bad.
>>130382000
There's no curios to interact with in the Darkest Dungeon. It's just a straight up slugging match, pack plenty of band-aids and antidotes.
>>130388420
They have entirely different purposes, I don't consider them even comparable.
How do I git gud at this game? I started tonight and I'm almost out of money from the number of times I have to retreat. I'm on the first quest where you can camp and keep getting my shit stomped.
So far it seems like the vestal is pretty much required, which means the crusader is required, which means I need ranged so I can either take the arbalest or houndmaster. Abomination, bounty hunter and plague doctor all seem to kind of suck.
>>130394639
One last thing.
I'm quite paranoid about losing Dismas and Reynauld. Is it wise to equip them with Martyr's Seal and Holy Orders respectively in order to give them time to flee if they get to death's door?
That would put each of their death blow resists up to 79% from 67%. 1/5 instead of 1/3.
>>130395297
Absolute #1 on your priority list should be to keep Reynauld and Dismas alive no matter what. That means sacrificing other heroes if you must, or giving up your favorite trinkets when a hero dies mid fight, or losing out on that 12,000 gold quest reward by abandoning the quest on the last room. Nothing is too great an expense when it comes to protecting them.
Other than that just upgrade your stage coach and send in a few suicide squads to get a feel for the game. After a while you'll get the hang of things. Heroes that are fresh of the stage coach are expendable.
If you get a hero you really like then start removing their bad quirks, locking in their good quirks, and upgrading their skills/equipment.
>>130395313
I rarely get anyone at death's door and I don't use those items
If you don't have better alternatives it's okay, but I'm pretty confident raw dodge, hp or even a cleansing crystal would be better.

I'm feeling pretty fucking confident. That was like 2 rooms into the dungeon and I still have the necromancer to kill. Time for everything to go wrong.

Well then I've already failed, Dismas got rekt in my last failed delve before I quit.

upgrade your stagecoach to 4+ dudes a week asap
do not spend money on anyone unless they have top tier quirks or you really want to keep them just fire the useless ones and replace them
PD is great since she can double stun/blight the backrow and dots stacks
crusader is good in ruins but by no means required

it punishes you for stalling out the fight vs 1 lone enemy not for playing defensive
people have equipped healing+ and defensive shit on every single quest and did just fine
if you think m@a is bad son you have no clue
>>130396103
You didn't remind yourself, did you?
>>130397078
the game doesn't necessarily punish you for being defensive, but you have to be VERY defensive.
Tediously defensive.

>>130397936
Skeletons have high natural crit chance, it seems.
It gets even worse in lower light levels.
Well I learned a few things about veteran missions today.
1. 100 accuracy is not enough. At 100 accuracy you will consistently miss 50% of your attacks.
2. Enemy damage is nearly doubled. Fish that did 8 damage before now do 20+ on average.
3. Enemy health is significantly higher. Enemys that used to take 1-2 hits now take 3-4.
4. Prioritizing stress dealers isn't an option because the damage dealers hit too hard.
5. Prioritizing damage dealers means your party gets stressed out after 3 combats.
6. Crits can now 1 shot characters. Literally 40+ damage from one hit. If it weren't for death's door mechanics my heroes would be dead.
Overall I decided after 5 combats that I fucking hate champion missions and I won't be coming back until I have 25 champions and have literally no other choice.
Fuck everything about this quest, the only saving grace was the secret room I found that will maybe let me break even on this whole thing. Oh also I got a severe quirk removed from some coral, that's nice.

maybe? i think the classes are decently balanced, leper and arbalest probably the weakest since shuffling fucks them up personaly i find hellion and houndmaster the strongest

yes
>>130398814Crusader is good in the Warrens
>>130398172
i believe one of his lines includes "the end is coming" but not sure what he is saying outside of that
>>130398172
He's not saying anything. But as he points as you mumbles, the dark energies that spew from his accusing finger and gibbering mouth bring to the top of your mind those tragedies you know were your fault and all the things you can never make right. As the weight of your deeds comes to bear on you again, the madman learns them as well. He knew you had done something, and he was right. He's always right. And so he grows stronger.

>>130401961
shambler
I just don't understand.
The strategies I've been using have worked every time. I've taken diown every boss so far without issue and I've always left dungeons with close to no stress, sometimes even completing long dungeons without a single camp.
Now that I have to go onto champion missions all of my heroes seem useless. They miss attacks, their damage won't kill the enemies fast enough, and their stress sky rockets out of control.
What am I doing wrong? Why is there such an unbelievable difficulty spike now of all times?
>>130402229
because lvl 5 dungeons dont matter at all, so they just went balls deep with the difficulty
I've figured out how to make the Leper a good, situation dependant tank.
Withstand: While in Position 1, gain 10% prot. and guard all allies. In any other position, have -25% prot instead.
BOOM
>>130402229
because of high numbers.
In champion difficulty your strategy doesn't matter as much since the numbers are so ridiculously stacked against you. The jump is far, far bigger than the jump from beginner to veteran.
It's honestly quite a pain in the ass.

>>130403057
because this game is immune to any kind of criticism regarding its difficulty because muh hardcore
so Champion difficulty was broken back in fiends & frenzy and hasn't been fixed since
tfw champion difficulty is so retarded that surprising the enemies is actually bad for you
>>130402649
Means every dungeon can be reduced to having a Leper stack PROT% and +HP% and having another character dedicated to healing him.
Why is it so fucking hard to scrounge up deeds? I go to the Weald and I only end up getting 8 if I'm lucky.

Well it does advertise itself as a roguelike after all
>>130402229
Mostly an issue with upgrades, trinkets and party composition.
You can steamroll everything with the most retarded setups at veteran but you kinda need to play smart and min max like a bitch in champion.
You should see champion ng+ , that shit is insanely tedious.
>>130403505
That's all I've done for the last two hours and I still only have 10 deeds to show for it.
>>130403534
don't roguelikes usually have short playthroughs due to the high chance of defeat?
The fact that the game's "speedrun" achievement is 90 weeks says a lot about how roguelike it is.Not really
just beat the final brigand pounder. Holy fuck Grave Robber saved my skin there. I lost my best highwayman and Vestal to those goddamn infamous cutthroats and the one time the matchman got through, it was a missfire. The saddest part is that even at deaths door, my highwayman turned stalwart just before death, and if my selfish Hellion hadn't passed her turn he would still be alive.
the crit rates in champion are just too fucking retarded, especially those fucking bandits
beginner dungeons are supposed to be hard without decent party composition, trinkets or upgrades, since by definition a lvl 0 squad of random chucklefucks from the wagon should be able to beat it.
veteran dungeons are supposed to be hard with decent party composition and lvl 3 upgrades.
champion dungeons are supposed to be hard with perfect party composition, lvl 5 upgrades and all trinkets in the game.
that's why champion is so fucking stupid. It was designed to kill your shit even if you have everything perfectly planned out.
People beat NG+ without ever using torches and you guys complain the game is too hard
>>130404076
which perfect party composition protects you from enemies critting for 30+ damage every round
>>130404087
Who?
>>130404197
none, that's my point
champion dungeons are pretty easily doable with lvl 5 equipment and maxed skills
just dont do them before that
>>130404431
Do you have any idea how long you have to grind to get even one hero to that level?
>>130404476
Get down from the tide, Ancestor. It turns too quickly.
>>130403374
Well then. That is quite situational.
Personally I think that the best way to fix the Leper is to make him doing something also does another something.
Instead of Revenge, which I personally find worthless, Chop could give Accuracy & Damage % boosts til the end of combat.
His Heal could also give another character protection, I really don't find the resistances to be that worthwhile except when faced with Arterial Pinch.
>>130403302
Fight in the Dark.
>>130404476
We need to go quicker.
>>130404197
enemies that hit for 30+ are slow as fuck to begin with and usually are almost always the last to attack.
There's bullshit going on in this game for sure but the rest is mostly manageable.
