Does this game have some kind of script detection? I've got AHK set up to craft a ton of stuff for me but the longer it goes on the more I notice actions failing. 90% success is starting to look a whole lot more like 70 or 80% success.
This isn't just some secluded string of bad luck either. Nearly every single craft has a failure or, less commonly, two. The odds of that happening consistently over a period of ~200 crafts is astronomically low assuming the stated 90% success is true.

They're overhauling the entire system.
For starters materia will now have an elemental affinity (eg. Ice/Fire/Water/etc). Low-level materia will be sold directly by vendors, mid-level ones found while gathering or dropped via enemies and higher-tier ones from instances/bosses. Materia will also be hot-swappable at the cost of crystals of their specific element, and here on out they'llll have novel effects like "adds X% fire damage to weapon", "lowers MP cost of spells by X%", "increases critical hit rate by X%", "adds X% chance to blind enemy on hit", "increases movement speed by X%". Shit like that. Some will even have negative effects you need to weigh against the positives, like "reduces HP by X% | increases MP by X%".
Basically they're planning to add class-specific modifiers to gear (eg. Dragoon boots that give you "Increases Jump damage"), while adding more generic boosts like the aforementioned to materia.

Because SCH is this game's equivalent of "easymode". Dippin DoTs and Bane will give you like 800 DPS dungeons. WHM can get even higher with Assize+Aero III+Holy but they have to work harder for it.
Meanwhile AST pulls less than half of SCH's DPS while working harder than WHM to keep the tank alive, and their buffs (ie. the limit of your utility) are gated by RNG. You can spend the whole dungeon fishing for a Balance/Arrow and never get the latter.

AST can still help, it's just the lesser of the three. It doesn't have the raw healing power of a WHM or anywhere close to the same damage output. It doesn't have the versatility of a SCH or anywhere close to the same damage output. It's not bad, just not quite as good as the others. And your cards are only as good as the people you're putting them on. That balance isn't going to do much when the DPS in your group are terrible.

Also any level 50 combat job could participate in the process along with some plain level 50 crafters, no star crafting required
It was quite good but they killed it and replaced it with nothing, now everyone is forced into high level crafting if they want to make decent gil without botting, really sad story

So, I played back in open beta. Played non-stop until I beat Coil turn 5 after which I stopped for about a year. Came back for HW but was disappointed that no-one ran all the old content I had missed out in the mean-time. There's just so much I wanted to do, but most people seemed to be grinding Alexander, or extreme Primals, so I unsubbed again. Should I give it another go or move on?
