The air-targets Minengeschoß belt is the one to have for the cannon, I usually just use omni rounds for the MG's. Just keep in mind that they don't fare well past 500 meters or so, and if you're using the 30mm you really need to get up their ass; I don't use the cannon until I'm close to 200 but even when I only get a snapshot it's usually a fatal hit if it doesn't kill them outright.

So what if it can outperform at 5-6km, 90% of the fighting happens on the deck. 8 MGs is good, 20mm Shvak, Hispano or MG 151 is better. Back when AAA was reasonable I would go really low around behind the enemy base and bomb/strafe landing planes, I got four kills in three different attacks one time. I guess they just really wanted to land rather than find the free kill that kept strafing them.

You are able to outrun all jap planes and most if not all German planes in level flight. Maintain some altitude so you are always in a position to floor it if your attempt to force headons fails, circle around and try again and eventually the enemy will get impatient and try to win the head on against your 14 heat projectors. Also jumping down from cloud cover to peg fighters then speeding away into the sunset is also fun.

If youpick a team and your team wins, you get a rocket tank too, which is pretty goofy. Golden tag will allow you to change your team in semi finals too, so your chances of getting it will be even bigger. You also get a 3D skull to put on your tank, but fuck that desu. I don't know about those guys, I just use knots because I'm used to using them in other games and have a rough idea of what happens at what speed without having to start thinking in SI units which, while superior, just don't make as much immediate sense to me when I'm flying a plane.
