My main basically had a life and a career before calamity(but not Calamity) befell her and she found herself on a whole different continent. Also this, Macros have a forced delay on them, you can't queue them normally, so unless you have frame perfect timing, they are basically useless.

Macro timing only works with integer second intervals, while hotkey inputs can be queued when input up to 500 milliseconds before the current ability ends.
What this means is macro automation leaves huge fuck-off gaps between the execution of global-cooldown abilities while active play leaves none. Basically, it assfucks your DPS.

Eh. The way I see it, if you've got a couple short cooldown skills that you're using most of the time, and a couple long cooldown skills that you use strategically, than the short cooldown skills are basically just an auto-attack chain with extra keystrokes.
Like I get that you have to have some kind of skill requirement, but it gets to the point where you're just banging on keys for the sake of banging on keys.

Yeah I know, but a lot of the Weaponskills have RNG procs or traits attached to them to keep it interesting, but I agree, lately with the 30+ buttons that I have to press often just to play, it really does feel like skill bloat.
Still don't think an Auto-attack build would do well here, even if it came down to it. Auto attacks do so little damage and are so slow its silly.

I've been using demo->pb->snap->snap->dk(b4b)->twin(potion)->snap(ir)->tod->boot->true->demo->dk->twin->fracture->snap->normal monk shit with ogcds scattered throughout whenever I remember to hit them. I had an order once but I forgot it. I think i was doing it in cd timer order, since delaying a short cooldown by one gcd is a higher percentage of damage lost. done right, the potion and b4b both catch the fracture.

Apparently there is a /vg/ group on Asura server, so you could try your luck there. I've been messing around with FFXI again recently myself (on Odin), there's quite a signficiant amount of QoL changes plus the addition of Trusts (AI party members) meaning you can solo just about all story content and a fair amount of leveling. So if you never experienced the story missions you might find them intriguing. Endgame groups are still a bit exclusive but the amount of other old/lowman content you can do is massive.

They were just like Heavensward's zones. Huge areas with nothing in them but copy pasted textures.
The only thing worse about 1.0 zones were that they were copy pasting areas and not just textures. You can walk past the same mountain or corridor more than 4 times.
