I roll mute similar to you except no silencer and no scope because I love the MP5s iron sights.
I usually go no silencer because I've actually found being cheeki breeki as a flanker is more useful than trying to stay 100% sneeki deeki. Keep your distance.
Generally, in most situations you shouldn't be one on one with a shield anyways, the general consensus is that Blitz is the 1 Vs. 1 king and Montagne is still very capable of punishing your mistakes. If it's just you and a shield remaining, it all depends on the game mode. They can't really plant a bomb if you're on the cusp of their range on the other side of the room. Grabbing a hostage, however, the shield goes on their back which allows them to run away and with Secure they can push you right out of the point.
Either abuse a height advantage, lurking above, listening for the objective update and trying for a flank, or you can attempt brute force. Melee on a shield will knock it aside and render them useless for a second, allowing a second melee or some quick spray/buckshot, but you can easily be beaten to the punch by the shield. Alternatively, you can sprint to their sides and pop them in the ribs before they can react. This works especially well due to high latency thanks to shitty Ubisoft servers.
The best course of action will always be nitro cells though. Nitro, or multiple angles of attack to render them defenseless. Smoke's good at area denial, but the gas rarely kills, and Kapkan's traps are too obvious to catch most players. Tachanka's MG can't pierce them or anything either, basically the biggest threat to shields is friendly fire.
Regardless of what Reddit says and no matter how easy Nitro kills are, between two equally skilled players, the shield will generally win. Blitz is just absurd.

However if you go Solo and have a "bad time" the match will be over in 20ish minutes, so it's not nearly as bad as CSGO.
