Anything 9.3-10.3. It's just a matter of finding the firmware files and using the modified SysUpdater to install them. If you are on 9.9-10.2 you will need cubic ninja otherwise you can use the web browser to access homebrew. There's a more comprehensive guide in the OP.

My sysupdater isn't doing the 8 line check. Fuck did i do wrong?
I downloaded 9.2.0-20U(FULL).zip
I put it in a folder called "updates," (not update as the guide didn't spell it that way) and sysUpdater still isn't doing the 8 number check.
I'm tried both menuhax and browserhax. sysUpdater absolutely refuses to do the 8 part check. I've read the guide like my life depended on it and i still don't know what's wrong.
I've tried multiple times to redownload the files to see if anything would change, but unfortunately i'm still stuck in the same situation.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

They're in your EmuNAND. I feel like the guide should probably explain that the goal is to move everything to EmuNAND and keep SysNAND mostly empty other than as a way to launch EmuNAND.
Some people like the concept of "I'll keep legit and not-legit separate" but it really doesn't work, doing things to SysNAND is unsafe and you can't download game updates or newer games etc without fuckery.
So I haven't touched my Homebrewed Wii in maybe two years.
Wondering what improvements have been made.
Never managed to get a GameCube emulator / ISO launcher working and am looking to get a media player but don't know what to get. I'm looking a the Homebrew wiki and it says GeeXboX can run any video format and all I have to do is put it on the SD card and launch it with Homebrew channel.
Other than that, I don't know what to do for getting Wii and GameCube games to work, that's where I get lost.
Getting NES, SNES and GBA emulators was a piece of cake after getting Homebrew on it so I've never done anything more complicated than that. I think I tried using Dios Mios for GameCube games once but didn't get it to work.

rxMode lets you run them, otherwise you need to install a modified AGB_FIRM. I'm not sure if it works with Pasta, that thing is outdated and probably doesn't to what you want it to do. If you want a simple CFW in sysnand use Minipasta.

Install Browserhax and Menuhax ASAP. You can't "downgrade" by doing a system reset, it just loads the firmware you currently have. Once 10.4 releases Browserhax will be broken, along with your only free entrypoint to install Menuhax.

Everything works 100% perfectly up to the point where it reboots after installing the 9.2.0-20U(Full) files, at which point it gives me the boot error and I have to recover to 10.3. At least my original backup still works so I can play Smash to vent my retard frustration.

If 10.4 comes today, you'll be fucked if you soft-brick, which is a somewhat common occurrence. But with menuhax installed you'll still have a shot at it regardless, so you'll just have to hope you don't soft-brick when you finally get it to flash.

This happened to me after doing a downgrade (also upgraded to bigger SD), I had to do a system format through the system settings, then ran the downgrade with no issues.
Back up all your saves and shit before you do. I ended up losing all my street pass data and save games because I completely forgot to back them up.

So I have an n3DS, I downloaded the file 9.2.0-20U(Full)_n3DS I extracted it and placed the whole "updates" folder into the root directory of my sd card, I got sysupdater to the red text, but it still said "failed to get CIA file info" Is this part rng too? Or did I apparently fuck up, while following every direction?

It's still possible, yes.
The only thing you have to worry about is never opening e-shop normally or opening the home menu theme thing due to it disabling menuhax loader.
Normally, you'd be able to fix that in 20 seconds by just going back to the website through the browser, but they might deactivate the browser, or force you to get to 10.4 for the browser, which could fuck everything up.
Although, there are people saying that 10.4 won't do anything, so...I don't know what to think.
Quite awhile ago, an anon told me how to get the Taiko no Tatsujin DLC to work.
It included emulang and making a certain folder but I can't for the life of me remember what I was supposed to call the folder.

You need some way to enter homebrew, ideally Menuhax. Browserhax only works on 9.2-9.8 and 10.3 currently due to Nintendo blocking shit.
If you're at >=9.9 then hurry and get 10.3 before 10.4 is out, but 10.4 can be out literally any second now.

You don't format the SD or copy the backup back. You need to restore your sysNAND backup from the NAND.bin so that you're linked again.
