I mean, TR pulls whole vulcan squads because it's good, but with VS, only a select few who pull the aphelion despite it basically being a much better vulcan, and of these, presumably few get gunners who know truly how stronk the disks are, and can understand how broken that shit is when used correctly.
I'm really not too worried about it unless people start using it en masse. Most VS harasser crews are shitters that can't beat a vulcan with it, and it's fun to abuse myself when jumping on my VS alt with my usual harasser offsider.
It'll be one of those secretly OP things that no-one knows about, so only serves to be abused by the select few knowers.

It's usable at long range AV too. You can do gatekeeper tier sundy sniping with it and out damage at least 1 guy repairing with the disks alone. This is very useful.
It's also got the alpha damage to make it highly effective in bob-n-weave harasser fights against vulcans/gatekeepers, and is extremely good against ESF's who try to take you on. The disk does like half health to them. Against Vanguards, it allows you to engage from far and still get meaningful damage whilst baiting out their shields, and against lightnings, it just works as a longer ranged vulcan.
You can't understate the disk. Pinpoint accurate burst damage is extremely useful.

What if the heavy shields were completely reworked?
Nanite mesh: Works similar to sunderer deploy shield, only one single hit drops it regardless of how much damage. It stops up to 1k damage. 10 second recharge at level 1, 6 at level 4, just like deploy shield. No penalties or activation otherwise. (good default shield, newbie friendly, you dont have to do anything, keeps you from getting randomly one shot by a sniper while running around, keeps you from getting randomly killed from a mine, of minimal direct combat value, but its always on, still great against things like pump shotguns or knives or shit)
Resist: 20% damage resist, always on, no drawbacks. An extra 200 effective hitpoints all the time. This is probably as tanky as heavies really aught to be.
Adrenaline: Exactly like it is right now pre-patch, only it doesnt refill at all on its own, you spawn with 50% energy. Also no movement penalty.

Heavy shield nerf is bollocks. Heavies were balanced with LMGs being objectively worse. ARs and carbines can just chain headshot from the move without resetting COF once. Looking forward to losing 1v1 vs shitter medics with their Carnage BR or Terminus.
