http://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Dummies_Guide:_RetroArch#BIOS_and_System_files
>>
>>128292916
What clusterfuck of a guide did you follow that told you to put the BIOS files in a folder structure that goes \retroarch\x86\content? I've never seen that before. Almost everyone puts them in \retroarch\system. You then make sure RetroArch is actually pointed to look at that folder as the System folder.
>>
>>128292916
When you read content directory they meant in the same place as the game files. Having the biosfiles with the bin/cue's is stupid so put it in a directory called system and make sure it's set as the system directory in the retroarch options.

Also those aren't the same file timestamps as the ones on the wiki and might be the bad bios floating around. It's probably not but always get the bios from the wiki to be sure.

>>
>>128295252

Use the BIOS pack from the wiki
Put them in retroarch\system
Make sure system_directory = ":\system"
Load a CUE sheet. Make sure the CUE sheet doesn't have stupid shit like hard paths or wrong filenames for the BIN.
If you're loading a CCD, then the SUB better be a good dump because Mednafen doesn't accept one with garbage subchannel Q data.

That's about as concise as it gets.

MAME can do PS1. If you're wondering why he's using it though, I have no idea.
>>
>>128306469
I can't be bothered with mednafen since I wouldn't use an emulator at native res for actually playing the games, and I certainly aren't going to try random titles on ePSXe or PCSXR since they have shit compatibility. MAME on the other hand so far has been having 100% success in running everything I've tried, it doesn't care about bad dumps or shit like that, starts up in a nanosecond, so it's perfect for what I need it.
>>
>>128303772
Rust sucks
>>

It's not that they have shit compatibility, they suck because of silly non game breaking emulation bugs that have gone unfixed for years.

>>

Both MAME and Mednafen are native res software rendered though. So there's literally no point to preferring one over the other. MAME is just a slower Mednafen PSX.

Yeah, but I have MAME for other purposes, since I'm into Home PCs. On the other hand, I have no need for Mednafen.

C64 emulation requiring a Core i5 and it can't even hold a candle to Frodo, never mind VICE.

MAME will forever be passable only for '90s/'80s arcade games. It will never amount to anything for consoles or home computers.

>>
>>128338637

If you run it on a celeron then that's actually pretty impressive.

Mednafen is more demanding than dynarec emulators but it should run fine on a modern computer. It runs without problem on my 2.5GHz i5 for instance.

If you were running a PAL game 50fps might be normal.

What's the difference between that and the PSP version? Does it have additional content or something?
>>
>>128322126
It's pretty much impossible to get pixel perfect output from PPSSPP for using shaders. You can set it to only be 240 vertically, but it will still always output 320 horizontal and will just use bilinear to scale anything that's bigger or smaller than that.

What you're supposed to do is set it to x8 IR (for 1080) to get a pixellate like effect and muh HD 3D elements. There's not much reason to use PPSSPP other than this. Maybe someone has done a romhack for the PS1 version if you really care about the new voice acting that much.

So the XBone controller uses temper-proof torx screws hidden behind clipped panels and you need to take appart the entire controller to remove the front buttons. The Xbox 360 had none of that despite having pretty much the same form factor.

Progress.
>>
>>128359080
Well G-Sync involves actual processing, which is why it can cause input lag and slowdown, while FreeSync is basically all done on the cable and monitor side of things, which is why it doesn't cause lag. I'm curious how it works out.

So you just need to calm down and they'll unscrew themselves?

IIRC you can still unscrew them with a regular torx screwdrive, after that you can "fix" said screws with a flat screwdrive and a hammer.

I think it's fair to assume that their Reicast core is going to be fully fleshed out by the time of release and they'll have their MAME/PPSSPP/Mednafen cores in sync with upstream again.

Anything else would just be embarassing

This. All the fighting in the background is done with actual models, rather than sprites.

There's flowing lava.

There are a ton of Orcs and NPCs killing each other while you're running around.

There's explosions and shit all over.

Even on the actual Gamecube there was a ton of slowdown. Wait for better optimization.

The shader in question is "CRT-Royale" and it is the fruit of the Gods. This shader comes to us packed in the "RetroArch" emulator, created by one, Troggle of Monkey. He is a legendary warrior who hath since vanished from this world. What he leaves behind is something I wish to import posthaste into ReShade, showering it across other executables to supply our humble friends with electron beam emulating goodness, rife with unparalleled shadow-of-masking, heretofore only matched by the real cathode ray tubes of yesteryear.

You have to have the keys to play the game, even if you're a paying customer. You can make them a lot harder to get than Steam's but at the end of the day they have to be somehow available to end users which means they can be obtained and used for piracy.

It's not like people are cracking games with 128bit encryption by fucking brute forcing the keys.

Is that black spot in the game the normal behavior of CRT-Royale?

IGNORE the over sized aperture grille - I set it like that to better show the issue, if is one.

Dark spots in some games like in this scene are pitch black and no triads are drawn there. This happens very often in horror games. It's like there's no transition from brighter to dark, it's just pitch black. Other crt shaders obviously don't have this issue because none of them draw masks like crt-royale. Just wondering if this is normal or if i can alter this in any way.

It seems to be just the basilard - with it you can spam the attack button and Alucard will always stab, the combat knife does one stab and after that a slash which is pretty shitty. Also, is there a way to drastically lower your attack rating without using shitty weapons, via rings or something?
