So after playing Sengoku, what would be the next recommended game to play? The FAQ says to start from the beginning with Rance 1, but it seems like the gameplay is a lot different from Sengoku.
How about the other non-rance games? Daibanchou seems closer to Sengoku, is it worth playing? I wouldn't mind trying something else before diving back into Rance.

It depends on how far you want to go. If you want to get really far, the main stats will be Attack, Critical, and Tenacity. HP not that much as some items give tons of them later on. And Tenacity raised to crazy levels works better than HP to keep you up.

For those characters, yes. But it also really depends on how far you want to go, like I said. The biggest challenge in this game is to beat the special bosses like Gunagan and Hanny King multiple times, as they get stronger every time. But against them parry isn't really that useful.

Oh yeah, forgot about speed. Although speed you only really need to raise it up to when your character has more speed than the enemies you encounter. On the highest difficult that is about 30~40, If I remember correctly.

Technically the work on 04 wasn't even formally announced yet. At staff section in Alice Mansion of 03 Yoidore Dragon (a new cowriter for the game) mentions that the next title we are going to see him probably is going to be X so I think they are concentrating most of their resources on X first and will start actively developing 04 only after it will be mostly completed. Also I'm looking forward to Yoidore Dragon's participation in the development of X since by writing such characters like Rovert he brought an interesting new flavor to the series.

Yoidore is the writer for the series since Quest, but he isn't the main for the remakes (well, actual remakes). He didn't work in 01, and only helped with 03, while also working on X at the same time.
So he may not even work on 04, even more considering it should be a smaller game around 01 size or a bit bigger.
