That's one way to do it, but because of the relatively low resolution of the mostly non-fractional map units it's a bit sketchy, which is the same reason the hitboxes are pretty simply implemented at the moment. Current item pickup functionality is vanilla, as in, run-over, with a couple of testing weapons that can be picked up with +use, stored independently, and equipped. At some point I'll do a complete overhaul of the equipment system, but right now it's better to focus elsewhere because the whole inventory/storage aspect is going to be one of the big challenges to tackle in general.

The demotion fax gets you a demotion chip, which you then need to get a head ID to modify, and then apply the chip to the demote's ID, which will permanently block the ID's access to areas, and prevent the access being readded.
Getting demoted remotely and access removed would be adminbus (and shitty one at that).
