What is this meme about American planes performing well at high altitude? Even above 7km they still get out-turned by 109's and 190's, and the latter are also stronger in the vertical. If you miss a dive on them, even with a 2km+ energy state, they can helicopter up after you.

A fully loaded hellcat or thunderbolt gets 6 or 7 button-presses before you're out, 2 from bombs and 4 or 5 from rockets. Rockets are literally hit-or-miss at killing tanks, if you're close enough to guarantee a hit you're probably in the process of crashing. The bombs are fine but even the best dive bombing technique can't match the magical accuracy of the bomb reticule.
In short, when you spawn in the TBF you have 4 button-pushes which (if you're not retarded) is 4 guaranteed tank kills because you can land the bomb in the driver's hatch. When you spawn in a P-47 you have 7 button-pushes and will realistically probably only turn 3 or 4 into tank kills.

You have to get pretty steep to be accurate but you can be quite accurate, the "skill" aspect of bombing in this way basically amounts to knowing how low you can go below you will hit the ground. You will most likely miss a lot or crash a lot until you find the survivable in-between.

don't dive bomb because you're gonna be way off. i usually just level bomb at 100 meters alt. use 1000 lbs for maximum blast radius or 500 lbs if you're more accurate.
don't forget there's a delayed fuse on the bombs now too.
