I think sorc starts with less of the "useless" stats, but cleric starts with higher fth/int. If you want to be optimal it's probably better to start sorc, but if you want to get into it quicker go with cleric.

Weapon buffs have a multiplier for elemental damage. They are more for magic builds since elemental damage scales with caster stats now.

DaS1 covenants were fucking SHIT outside of getting PvP items like Full Orbs or buffs like DMB. They did absolutely nothing else of merit.
No special dueling zones like Bloodfags and Bluebros have, the only tangible PvE benefits were saving Solaire after spending an entire hour giving the spider waifu humanity one at a time too.
Say what you want about DaS2 but at least it had more actual content and variety, and covenants were actually useful.

Use dxdiag. Search it on the start menu, go to the "Display" tab on the top. Under drivers on the right side of the window, there should be a line "Feature Levels:" with a list of numbers. If 11 isn't there, then you're outtaluck when it comes to SotFS.
Luckily, Steam lets you get refunds if you have less than, I think, an hour of play as long as the game was bought wirthin, i think, 30 days. Good luck m8

A lot of the combat mechanics are different in DS2. It mgiht take a bit to adjust. You can level ADP (Adaptability) to increase your Agility stat, which increase I-Frames of your rolls at certain breakpoints.

They nerfed the powerstance L1 in an attempt to fix the rollpunching glitch, except that it didn't even get fucking fixed and it just nerfed the moveset instead.
The Caestus has the same problem but at least they're much easier to acquire than the Vanq Seal and they're perfectly fine for PvE until you get the Bone Fists.

Shield remain largely the shame, but I feel as though you're significantly slower to initiate blocks and attacks in general for DaS2. It's annoying as fuck to jump into DaS2 after doing some runs in DaS1.
